Finally, the Cyber new law is finally passed..
LEGAL NOTICE – 2025 CYBERCRIMES ACT NOW IN FORCE

The Federal Government has officially enacted the Cybercrimes Bill into law, meaning all provisions contained in the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) acts are now fully enforceable and binding across the country.

Everyone—especially online users, content creators, and administrators of digital platforms or social media groups—must take note of the following key provisions:

Key Offenses Under the Cybercrimes Act:

1. Unauthorized Access to Devices – Section 3:
Gaining access to someone else’s phone, computer, or digital device without their permission is a criminal offense.
🛑 Punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment.

2. Tampering with Data – Section 4:
Modifying, deleting, obstructing, or interfering with another person’s digital data without lawful authority is illegal.
🛑 Punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment.

3. Disclosure of Critical Information – Section 5:
Sharing classified, sensitive, or “critical information infrastructure” with unauthorized persons is a serious offense.
🛑 Punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment.

4. Recording Private Conversations – Section 10:
Recording private discussions without proper authorization, *even if you are a participant*, violates privacy laws.
🛑 Punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment.

5. Publishing False or Misleading Information – Section 19:
Spreading fake news or publishing content that is deliberately misleading or deceptive is a criminal act.
🛑 Punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment.

6. Online Harassment and Abuse – Section 22:
Posting content that is rude, vulgar, offensive, or indecent, especially with the intent to embarrass or humiliate others, is an offense.
🛑 Punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment.

7. Inciting Ethnic Hatred or Division – Section 24:
Attempting to provoke ethnic, religious, or tribal hatred through online or offline statements amounts to domestic terrorism.
🛑 Punishable by life imprisonment.

Note that if you are an Administrator of a WhatsApp Group, Facebook Page, Telegram Channel, or Any Other Online Community

You can be held liable for the content shared by members if you knowingly allow illegal content to be posted or fail to moderate appropriately. As such, always monitor your groups, enforce community guidelines, and avoid circulating unverified or inflammatory content.

Stay Legally Protected

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. In this digital age, it is essential to understand and comply with the provisions of the Cybercrimes Act to avoid prosecution. Be responsible with your digital activities, and protect your legal and personal reputation.

I just heard a story and my body is shaking…

A 13-year old boy in Maiduguri was selling sugarcane in a wheelbarrow for his father.
Inside the scorching sun, he decided to push his wheelbarrow to a nearby tree for shade & for him to rest for a while.

As he pushed his wheelbarrow tired, he mistakenly brushed the front of a parked car & the headlamp fell off. He looked around & couldn’t find the owner. His conscience didn’t let him walk away from the car. So he waited for the owner who happened to be praying in a nearby mosque.
The owner finished his prayers & found this 13-year old boy and the damage he has done. He called the police and ordered the boy be put in prison.

Recently, this 13-year old boy just got released from prison, after spending 47 years in prison, at the age of 60 years.
At this point, I broke down in tears.
He was literally moved from one prison to the other all over Nigeria in the course of this 47 years in prison.
He only got released because a governor granted him pardon.

May Nigeria never happen to you.

It baffles me that anytime you call for foreign intervention when it comes to security or electoral matters, people are always quick to come after you.

What are their reasons?

They will tell you that Nigeria is a sovereign State that doesn't need interference.

That sheer hypocrisy pains me to the bone marrow.

So, you all know that we are a sovereign nation, but forgot to remind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of that fact when he keeps approaching foreign countries and organizations for heavy loans?

You all could not remind him how sovereign we are when the Bilateral and Sovereign-Backed Foreign Loans with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to borrow $5.0 Billion was concluded on March 31, 2026?

You all could not advance the advocacy of our sovereignty when the $1.0 Billion United Kingdom Export Finance (UKEF) loan was approved on March 31, 2026?

We are not even talking about the ones from the Eurozone Linked Facility, World Bank, Japan, and all the foreign loans that this government and that of Buhari have taken so far.

But our sovereignty only matters to you when it comes to elections and security.

When it comes to borrowing money from foreign countries, you suddenly remember that Nigeria needs all the help it can get.

But when it comes to protecting our democracy, securing our elections, or tackling insecurity, you suddenly remember that Nigeria is a sovereign nation that needs no foreign intervention.

It reeks more of hypocrisy than genuine advocacy.

I recently visited a primary school teacher in his school, but what I saw in the school is heartbreaking. About 40% of pupils in the school are barefooted, About 70% of them have no school uniform. They wore tattered clothes. Almost all of them are malnourished.

I asked the teacher why did they allow this?

He said they accepted them like that because when they sent them back home they didn't return. They have to go and beg the parents to allow them return. He said the parents are too poor to take good care of them.

I've seen poverty, but what I saw in the school is heartbreaking, because the children are too young and innocent for the suffering.

Potential doctors, engineers, technologists and scientists wasting away in that village.

I cursed the government for the neglect.

We are writing with heavy hearts to cry out for help.

42 children from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School, Askira Uba LGA, Borno State were abducted on May 15, 2026. The children include toddlers as young as 2 years old.

Today marks 67 days and our children are still being held in the forests. We have not heard anything about their whereabouts or condition.

We have waited, we have prayed, and we have reported. But up to today, we have not seen concrete action from the Borno State Government under Governor Babagana Zulum to secure their release and bring them home safely.

Our children are in the forest. They are scared, hungry, and in danger. Every day that passes puts their lives at more risk.

We are pleading:

1. Governor Zulum: Please act now. Deploy all necessary resources for the immediate rescue of the 42 Mussa children.
2. Security agencies: We need a coordinated rescue operation urgently.
3. The public and media: Help us amplify this. Do not let our children be forgotten.

We are parents, we are a community, and we are desperate. We cannot do this alone.

Please, help us call on the authorities to act before it is too late. Our children deserve to come home.

This year's competition will now include both Mathematics and Science (optional), with a single registration covering both.

Our winners will represent the country at the International STEM Olympiad in Lisbon, Portugal, and the Singapore Maths Olympiad Finals in Singapore in 2027.

Following the competition, we will also rank the educational performance of the South Eastern states based on the average assessment results.

The entire South East is building remarkable academic momentum, and it is inspiring to watch.

We will broadcast the competition live on Afia TV, and I will also try to secure a live broadcast on Arise News.

It is now the biggest academic competition on the continent.

Remember, participation is completely free and is open to any child who lives in or attends school in the South East.

One thing that deeply worries me about Nigeria is this:

Some dreams are almost impossible to achieve if you're born, raised, and educated here.

Want to become an astronaut? There is virtually no pathway.

Want to become a world-class professional footballer? For most talented children, the route is far harder than it should be because the development ecosystem is weak.

And there are many other careers where your biggest obstacle isn't your talent, it's your geography.

This is why some Nigerians have to leave the country, not because they hate Nigeria, but because that's the only way to fully pursue their dreams.

That should concern all of us.

A child's future should be determined by their ability and hard work, not by the accident of where they were born.

Nigeria has no shortage of talent.

What we're missing is a system that allows talent to become greatness.

I've spent the last several months researching, travelling, and studying why countries like Singapore, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Canada and Finland built some of the world's best public education systems.

One thing became clear:

Nigeria doesn't just have an education problem. We have a school management problem.

Today, I'm releasing a white paper that proposes a new way to transform our public schools, keeping them publicly owned while introducing world-class management and accountability.

This isn't about politics.

It's about giving every Nigerian child the opportunity to attend a world-class public school.

Today, the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, invited our world maths champion and young genius, Onwubiko Chimdiebube, along with his mathematics teacher, Master Chisom Unachukwu. He spent quality time with them, encouraging and inspiring them.

The Governor awarded ₦2 million each to Chimdiebube and his teacher, and an additional ₦1 million to their school, bringing the total support to ₦5 million.

I sincerely appreciate Governor Peter Mbah and his team for recognizing excellence. Winning on the global stage is no small feat, especially for such a young talent.

Through mathematics, our young people are standing before kings.
