Best friend quote of the day: “your tendency to get kicked out of places is making me start to worry that your presidency is going to end in impeachment…there is certainly a pattern here.” 😅😂
@JamesAFurey In my experience, the school sets how it’s done, not the individual teacher. After having MULTIPLE students flunked badly in my APUSH class I finally got the principal to allow me to deny kids the right to enroll.
@edudissenter@JamesAFurey YUP! I was told my direct instruction was "boring" the children. Maybe the children would be bored in their lectures, but my students and I always have a great time.
@JamesAFurey I was telling this to a friend of mine who gets peppered with "you have to differentiate" by her admin all the time. I just say, "you tell them to come in and DEMONSTRATE how to do it in your class...or better yet, in a PD session and see what happens.
@ocarinatactics@JoshReynolds24 It should be common sense to not harass people over a sporting event, regardless of how "serious" it may seem. It's not worth beating someone up over. This is just ridiculous.
@brian_bee@DanBurmawy I laughed at this, but the way education is done was certainly designed with girls in mind, especially lower elementary. I say this as an educator of 10+ years. I think we need to bring back gender-separated classrooms/schools to let boys be boys, and have them taught by men.
@MDHtoo@educator4ever36 My issues with teaching are not about working hours and pay, honestly. Working hours, for me, if I don't have to be somewhere, I just say no. And I knew pay wasn't great before. I have MANY issues with teaching because of students, parents, admin. I agree with you on all of this.
@educator4ever36 While working on a masters at the time & not turning in weekly lesson plans (though I had an open door policy to any admin at any time/lesson) the principal said "well maybe you should just come in early or work later." I asked, "you pay me for that time? no? then no thanks."
@2footgiraffe I am finishing year 11 and as each year passes, I think about not coming back next year. Thankfully I am now just working at a glorified language school (I am international) and the hours are short, time commitment minimal, class sizes tiny, and pay really good.
@AuthorGFAllen Yes. After reading The Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard and I have read 90% of the things she has read since. A phenomenal biographer and writer she is. I love everything I have read by her.
I have pink eye. The best friend buys me some eye drops and has them delivered to my apartment. I put it in my eye, expecting warmth and soothing, only to be met w pain, burning, & deception. I go to text my friend and she texts 1st, "oh, I think those are unpleasant." Yes.
@fontenot_cliff@HobbMichael@503Anon49248@Protestia By that logic there are LOTS of things I can do because the bible doesn’t explicitly say I can’t. What a JOKE!
Jesu reiterates that man should join with his wife to become 1 flesh (from Gen); Timothy says men for leadership be “husbands of one wife,” the list goes ON.
@DefiantLs The point is that currently, people are living well into their 80s and the idea that you just sit at home while taking a check is crazy, especially if you do it for 20+ years. If you want SS to continue for millennials, retirement age MUST be raised or it’s bankrupted.
@vikesinsider I think the Vikings are fine. JJ needs to have time to develop, but sadly, that’s not given often in the league now.
KOC needs to let someone else call the plays.
