As my year at @Harvard wraps up, I’m reflecting on how lucky I was to take Paul Farmer’s course “Who lives, Who dies, Who cares?”
Paul’s words are a guiding light. Grateful his legacy lives on with @Jason_Reads @jonshaffer @s_keshavjee @JoiaMukherjee @Eddie_Cliff & many others!
I gave a talk on climate justice earlier this year to a European NGO.
They asked, "What's the most practical demand you can suggest?"
Me: Demand the withdrawal of US and European armies, shut down the bases, everywhere in the South.
Them: No, really. What do you suggest?

@olinesether @HanneFH1@Jens_P_Berg@UniOslo_MED Skikkelig spennende med et reelt valg i år! Flott at studentene blir invitert til å engasjere seg i prosessen.
"May the rich remember, during the winter, when they sit in front of their hot stoves...that the ship hands who brought the coal and the apples died from cholera? It is so sad that 1000s always must die in misery so that a few 100 may live well." —Rudolf Virchow
Man kan si mye om fastlegekrisen, men personlig synes jeg noe av det mest alarmerende er todelingen av helsevesenet vårt, med det jeg opplever som økende grad av privat helseforsikring.

Had the great pleasure of chatting with @trishgreenhalgh over lunch today about the experience of being a social science-minded medical student. It can be pretty lonely - biomedical spaces aren’t always welcoming. Time to resocialize medical education? @CentreShe@UniOslo_MED
@_Eric_Reinhart@Jason_Reads@s_keshavjee @jonshaffer @unsymbolize @PIH@__emh@abbeymarks @AprilOpoliner @IshaanKDesai@nickfseymour1 Or how I spent grad sections with Paul critiquing the lack of continuity between the first half (structural issues) and the second half (case studies) of GENED. Paul called out Norway in each of his lectures to remind me what my time might better be spent on. He was right…
Er det virkelig gavekort på solarium vi skal gi nye studenter?? Norge er blant landene i verden med høyest forekomst av føflekkreft. UV-strålene man får i solarium øker risikoen for hudkreft. Hva sier @SP_UiO@NmfSentralt@Kreftforeningen@UniOslo_MED@legeforeningen om dette?

Help us call out the systems of power that are fucking over our communities (we know there are many and we firmly believe there should be none). Name names. Track the money. Figure out who gains from the oppression of others. The more specific the better. We’re not afraid.
