@paulg This is a good reminder to founders, big breakthroughs don’t happen overnight. It may sometimes feel overwhelming to build something great, but never quit too early.
Changing your mind can be emotionally expensive as a founder. You’ve already invested in the old plan, explained it to people, maybe even built your reputation around it. But protecting an old decision can cost far more than changing it.
I came to America with one version of the future in my head. That version has changed several times. I’m more comfortable with that now. You don’t need the entire path. You need enough clarity to take the next meaningful step.
AI gives small teams access to capabilities that once required more people. But access to capability is not the same as knowing what to do with it. Tools amplify direction. They don’t provide it.
The enterprise AI question I find more useful isn’t “Where can we use AI?” It’s: “Where are people wasting time because systems don’t talk to each other?” That’s usually where the interesting workflow problems start.
Founder lesson I keep relearning: don’t automate a process you don’t understand. Do it manually first. See where it breaks. Understand the behavior. Then automate the parts that actually deserve automation.
AI is making it easier to build. That sounds like great news for founders—and it is. But if thousands of people can build similar products faster and cheaper, getting people to care becomes harder. The bottleneck is moving from creation to distribution.
Building a company teaches you that making a good product and getting it into people’s hands are two completely different skills. You need both. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the second one: distribution.
AI is lowering the cost of execution.
Writing.
Design.
Research.
Coding.
Analysis.
Automation.
If execution continues to get cheaper, I suspect judgment becomes considerably more valuable.
Knowing what not to build may become as important as knowing how to build.

@Chopmonie_1 He was indeed the greatest of pop music, but imagine this done to win those souls to Christ Jesus. It would've been an amazing crusade of life-changing impact.
