Worth monitoring: Rory McIlroy, who is dealing with a blister underneath toe nail, left the course Tuesday after playing 3 holes. He took shoe off in 3rd fairway, finished hole, took shoe off again on 4th tee before going in. I’m told he’s in clubhouse now trying different shoes.

Spoke to a local business owner who thinks Tommy Haugh may actually end up being the highest earner in the City of Gainesville over the next year.

“Based on the reports, if he maxes out these brand deals, he’s probably making more than almost everyone in the city. I mean, possibly more than Meldon, or the CEO of Tower Insurance, if he even lives in Gainesville, I don’t think they are liquid like that.

He’s up there with them, and Sumrall right? No doctors here are making that, they’re all in Miami. Plenty of companies here do those numbers in revenue, but they’re not taking that home.”

If fact, in true college towns across the country, Morgantown, Auburn, etc, thanks to RevShare & NIL combined, it wouldn’t be shocking if college athletes jump into the highest earners in their own cities too. Even conservative $20-30m football rosters, $3-12m basketball rosters. If you do the math, it makes sense.
