Hi @matthancock we're glad you recommitted to reform the Mental Health Act.
As you promised to do this by the end of the year, we assume publishing the white paper is an urgent priority for you. Can you tell us when to expect it?

Huge thanks @KMercerTraining for rocking @SharedLivesPlus conference today with #advocacy skills and inspiration 💃👏💃🎈😊 #Sharing19. Come back again soon!
I've attended a fair few conferences, but never have I felt an audience respond in the way it did today when Megan shared her experience of being "treated" in hospital. Thank you @MeganLe80885056 #Sharing19
Being part of your local community, whatever your interests are, is at the heart of Shared Lives and so much more. What a great workshop #Sharing19#SharedLives
Just because something you 'want' can't happen, it doesn't mean your 'wants' can be ignored, they have to be heard, acknowledged and respected. #Sharing19
We confuse the legal right to be heard with the right to get what you want (which isn’t a legal right), and then we don’t listen because we can’t give people what they want. We must listen! @KMercerTraining #Sharing19
"Unapologetically me", all of us, have a right to be ourselves, as Megan has so powerfully expressed we have Human Right to be unapologetically ourselves. #Sharing19
@MeganLe80885056 tells us how she has had her #HumanRights taken away too many times in the past. She says she has the same #HumanRights to be ‘unapologetically me’’ #Sharing19
All our Human Rights must be respected. Our health and social services have to be Human Rights compliant. Article 8 of the Human Rights Act, so relevant to #SharedLives.
Please take a moment to watch this YouTube video. THIS is the difference Shared Lives makes to people’s lives. To be heard, understood, respected, cared for and cared about. Wonderful to see Gabby and Adi 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜
Being there for friends and family who may be struggling can often leave us feeling powerless to help, but there are simple things we can offer that do make a difference.
⭐ Do you want to talk about it?
⭐ What can I do to help today?
⭐ You are not a burden

A human rights based approach, by its very nature means that the person’s views, options and rights must be central. This means that better quality decision making happens from the outset. You can read a blog on this issue here:
