Are you excited about foraging ? do you want to analyse multidimensional large scale behavioural, metabolic and neural data ? I have a job opening for you :D
I have an opening for a postdoc in my @IntBioPhysics group. The Postdoc will be working as part of a recently funded Human Sciences Frontiers Program (HSFP) research grant ‘”Neurometabolic mechanisms underlying social foraging” in collaboration with the experimental groups of Robert Froemke (New York University) and Jee Hyun Choi (Korean Institute of Science and Technology). The project aims to understand neuro-metabolic mechanisms underlying social foraging. The PostDoc will have the opportunity to travel to the collaborators in New York and Seoul.
All details here and below in the thread : https://t.co/6P5W3ngjAn
My lab is hiring a pre-doctoral research assistant to work on the neural computations of foraging, seeking common cross-species algorithms. A @BBSRC funded project in collaboration with @brain_apps & @nathanlepora.
Closes May 5th
Pls share!

Apply by 18 April (https://t.co/7xiZwGJGcS) and RT!
Funded PhD (UK students only). Interested in a PhD working in @MSNlab, co-supervised by @froemero1? Topic is flexible around themes of motivation and decision-making, using techniques such as computational modelling, brain imaging, or brain stimulation. https://t.co/tlCp9dp3N2
The first preprint of my postdoc with @jtdudman
is now online! Here we wanted to understand the algorithms mice use when learning to forage in large environments with many potential resources. 1/n https://t.co/2LHb6TMnbr
🚨 New preprint!
Happy to share a preprint of a chapter written for the forthcoming book "Neuroeconomics: Core Topics and Current Directions"; any thoughts and feedback are most welcome!

If motor cortex is a dynamical system, how does it control independent parameters of movement?
Our new paper at #jneurosci reveals arm direction and speed are respectively encoded by the trajectory of neural dynamics and how quickly it unfolds.

So happy that this chapter of my PhD thesis is now out in Behavioural Brain Research. Here, we investigated the role of dopamine in the modulation of speed during naturalistic movements. https://t.co/JOsF43gPpR
I’m looking for a research technician to help study the role of the basal ganglia in foraging decisions
@Neuroscience_NU. This is a great opportunity to get experience before grad school and help lead a project!
Our study on reward and effort signals in PFC theta and basal ganglia beta is now out in @PNASNews! Big thanks to the team (esp @coradehemptinne and @littleneuro), reviewers, and patients.

🚨Thrilled to share our first paper from the ENIGMA-Antisocial Behaviour working group, published in Lancet Psychiatry! Co-led with @MStaginnus, this study took four years of work by 104 international collaborators, and used @enigmabrains' standardized protocol. We compared brain structures of 1185 youth with conduct disorder to 1253 typically developing youth across 15 international cohorts. Funded by @acmedsci.

Yesterday these lovely people from @MSNlab started our first psychopharmacology study @TheCHBH / @UoB_SoP looking at the effects if dopaminergic medication on thr computational mechanisms of effort and reward. Exciting new step for the lab.
Read our blog, ‘How Do We Decide to Leave a Social Interaction?’ by @brain_apps and me on a recent paper by Gabay et al. (2024).
Special thanks to @AnthonyGabay, @thepsychologist, and @DrJoCutler.
