Edo Govt Bans Davido From Performing in State for Remainder of Gov. Okpebholo’s Administration over his publication of a WASSCE result full of D7s
The Edo State Government has declared that Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is no longer welcome to perform in the state for the remainder of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, made the declaration in a video shared by Peniel TV International, Benin City, on Thursday, amid the ongoing public feud between Davido and Okpebholo.
According to Chukwu, the singer was “banned” from performing in Edo over comments he made about the governor and his family during the political dispute that followed the recent Osun State governorship election.
“You have been banned from coming to Edo State to perform. We don’t want to see you in Edo again,” Chukwu said.
He accused Davido of disrespecting the governor and claimed that many youths in Edo were angered by the singer’s remarks.
“Edo youths are angry. They said if they catch you again, nobody should bring Davido to come and perform in any place again in Edo State,” he added.
Chukwu also accused Davido of circulating a manipulated version of Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result online and warned him against repeating such posts.
The controversy began during the build-up to the August 15 Osun governorship election, after Okpebholo criticised Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, over his dancing style and conduct in office while campaigning in the state.
Davido subsequently shared what he described as Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram Story, sparking reactions online.
The singer later defended the post during an interview, saying he had no reason to apologise. He argued that he only showed Osun residents the academic record of a governor who travelled to campaign against his uncle and also questioned Okpebholo’s decision to leave Edo for the election campaign.

Just imagine Tinubu had been president during the oil boom era instead of Obasanjo and Yar’Adua, while implementing the policies he is pursuing today. Nigeria could have been like Luxembourg. We wasted our oil boom years on a consumption-driven economy. Sad.
FAAC monthly allocation shared under Buhari was N800 billion on the average.
President Tinubu just made it N3 Trillion. PBAT is doing exactly what he did in Lagos.

The official campaign season for the 2027 General Elections has formally commenced today. From now until January, President Bola Tinubu’s campaign train will be on the move, taking messages, engaging Nigerians and highlighting the achievements of the administration.
In just 5 days:
1. Augustine Okechukwu Maazi, an Igbo man, led a bank robbery in Ghana. He was caught, and 2 Igbos died in the shootout.
2. Izuchukwu Calistus Odionye, an Igbo man, was arrested for drugs in Vietnam.
These crimes damage Nigeria’s global image.
Pls, stop this!
Jay Jay Okocha from time to time complains about how the Super Eagles are poorly treated in the country, due to inadequate infrastructures and management. But the question is, what has the same Okocha done with his influence? Asides promoting bets, has he used his influence to bring together other players to try and solve the problems? Or used his money to try fixing these issues for the betterment of the next generation?
Till today, no governor, senator or House of Reps member has publicly endorsed Atiku or Peter Obi.
Meanwhile, 32 governors, 88 senators and 261 Reps have endorsed Tinubu.
Those without endorsements are the ones boasting about winning the 2027 presidential election.
Okay na!
