Call of Duty just issued a new statement on the matchmaking in Modern Warfare 4 following massive negative feedback from the COD community.

“Matchmaking isn't just data, it's a feeling.” Yeah, we know, that’s what we’ve been saying since MW19 came out 6 years ago!!!

People are fed up of the constant gaslighting by Call of Duty. First they said the “new match making” was inspired by the classics after the success of the BO1/2 ports, now they’re seemingly going back on their word after people realised it’s clearly closer to the modern matchmaking than the old games???

They even bring up the debunked misleading white-paper they posted before to further support their claims, and bring up how BO1/2 matchmaking factored skill, which is did to some extent but nothing like the modern games.

This is why people flocked to the ports in the first place because there’s clearly a big difference.

I don’t know how many times the marketing team can get away with straight up lying to their audience. They know what they’re doing and think people are stupid.

People’s patience is wearing thin. BO7’s sales dropped a lot, and MW4’s aren’t looking too great either from rough estimates out there.

It really is sad how this franchise treats its fans. Call of Duty has delivered some truly phenomenal works of art over the years, there’s a reason it has such a dominant fan base, but the manipulative tactics they use to keep people hooked every year like crack addicts (all of us included) is just insane.

Black Ops 7 listened thanks to Battlefield taking a big market share but after that unfortunately crumbled they’re just back to the same old routine, now with a false mirage of “transparency”.

This franchise deserves so so so much better than the overlords who rule it.
