"This young man was subjected to horrific torture before he was hanged.
His body tells the story of his agony:

Torture Marks: Cigarette burns on his hands and deep rope marks around his neck.

He had been shot in his legs before his detntion.

Even his internal organs had been removed.

Abbas went missing on January 8 in Marlik, Karaj. His mother searched through thousands of bodies in morgues but couldn't find him. When his father and sister went to the Malard Intelligence Office to follow up, they were brutally beaten just for asking about him.

The family finally identified his body at an undisclosed location. To release him, the authorities forced the family to declare him a 'Basiji'.

He suffered beyond imagination. We must not let the price he paid for freedom to be forgotten."
