American conservatism and academia cant exist in the same space. Not due to ideological differences, but because of american conservatives' refusal to use facts and solely rely on their feelings and inferences they make from anecdotal experiences when discussing topics

I just found out my professor for the hardest class in my program that I'm taking this semester is a conservative....

Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but just in the first homework set, she labels all homeless people as "drug addicts", and states that race doesn't play a role in criminal sentencing.

I can't say I've ever had a politics professor before say such inflammatory stuff.

Keep in mind, I've learned under an anti-communist, a Palestinian, an anti-Apartheid activist in SA, a Christian theologian, a conservative Naval judge, etc.

I never had issues with them because they never said such stupid, inflammatory shit to piss people in class off.

A long semester awaits.

It just boggles my mind that someone who has worked with the trans community for a long time until the late 2010s wouldn't be able recognice thag maybe they shouldnt speak for young trans voices when young trans voices are in the room.

Like kindly shut your fucking mouth I understand that companies make money off of people transitioning. That is a constant fear for young trans people you just havent talked to them. Stop trying to interject your voice when you admittedly know nothing about today's trans culture
