T2 - I love that I get to see how my interpretations affect patient care in the short term. I facilitate rapid action by the clinical teams to help them treat patients more efficiently and effectively. As @uyedajen said, we save lives. It’s not hype. It really happens!
@uyedajen @ASER_ERad Committee positions are given out annually by the President, and the VPs. Let them know you want one. Also, talk to the current chair of a committee you want to be on
@momukhtar You need a variety of tools in your chest. Residency sets you up nicely, but doing a fellowship in ERad is definitely the easiest route to a career in this field. Fellowship positions are up for grabs, as there typically are more available positions than applicants.
@uyedajen @ASER_ERad Ask and ye shall receive. It’s a matter of getting to the social events at a meeting, showing interest in getting involved and volunteering to help the society advance it’s missions.
@uyedajen@BrighamRad@BWHERad We’re still doing 1 attending at a time shifts with a handoff after 8 hours. When we can hire more people, we’ll likely transition to overlapping staggered shifts too.
@suzchongmd@KrystalArcherMD@uyedajen@TraumaRad @ASER_ERad I hate reading rooms, and spend all of my time in the trauma center, reading off a PACS station side by side with EM and ACS docs. I go in trauma bats for level 1 admissions. It’s a blast! They love the extra special service!
@ASER_ERad T4 - shift work. In my institution we do 8 hr shifts. Most of mine are 7a-3p, some are 3p-11p. I like them both. There is plenty of free time to spend with my kids or doing other things I like to do. #ASERtweetchat
To all of my friends. I hereby promise to NOT post a picture of me getting the COVID vaccine. I WILL get it, but I’m not going to make you look at yet another photo of someone getting the shot...you’re welcome!
