My first article "Dejudicialisation of International Law and Future Trajectories" is on GroJIL 10! In this article, I explain the concept of (de)judicialisation in international law with three recent backlash instances.

A dispute has erupted again between Greece and Turkey over the Aegean islands.
The Turkish Defense Ministry stated that Greece is stationing troops on demilitarized islands, violating international agreements from 1923 and 1947. Ankara warned that such actions violate the agreements and damage relations between the two countries.
To protect itself, Turkey has increased its military presence on the islands and in the TRNC (Turkey's Territorial Defense Corporation): fighter jets, air defense systems, and patrols have been deployed there. The country emphasizes that the actions are legal and coordinated with NATO, but tensions in the region are escalating.
The AlJazeera broadcast perfectly exposes the hypocrisy of the Security Council through showing Israel’s bombing Beirut while the resolution condemning Iran’s attack on Gulf countries was being adopted.
Remember this headline when you start seeing reports or Instagram stories about an organic, spontaneous armed uprising in western Iran in the coming days.
Bombing Iran in the middle of negotiations, while starving Cuba, while genociding Palestinians, while threatening to invade Greenland… the US and Israel are the single greatest threat to humanity and it’s not even close. We are all forced to live in the nightmare they create.
The United-Arab-Emirates 🇦🇪 foreign policy : divider of countries, ally of Israel and the Western world, resolute fighter against Islamism...

3/3 While the Declaration emphasises the fight against impunity, the dialogue represents an unclear institutional response for the sanctions. The Rome Statute serves as the framework for the dialogue and any compromise in the delivery of justice must be unacceptable.
1/3 At its 24th session, the ASP adopted a declaration in support of the Court indicating grave concerns regarding the challenges currently being faced by the ICC. These challenges included threats and sanctions directed at ICC officials, as well as cyberattacks.
2/3 Significantly, States Parties encourage dialogue between States Parties and Non-States Parties (implying the US) to protect the independence and effectiveness of the Court.
Such a shame France, other European states, the EU, and the broader ICC membership are allowing this to happen. This is not business as usual but a profound betrayal – of the legal professionals who carry out the ICC mandate on their behalf, and of the core principles of justice.

Israel has just bombed Doha. Yesterday they bombed Tunis in attack on the flotilla. Last week they murdered the Prime Minister of Yemen. These are brazen acts of war. What other country gets away with all of this?
Children in #Gaza are starving to death.
Across the Gaza Strip, most children examined by UNRWA health teams are emaciated, weak, and at risk of dying, if they do not get the treatment they urgently need.
According to @UNICEF, more than 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured (combined) in Gaza since October 2023.
It’s time to stop this war on children.
