In a landmark report released this month, @UNHumanRights denounced the failure of punitive drug policies & the global '#WarOnDrugs', & called for a new approach based on health & #HumanRights, inc. through the responsible #regulation of drugs: https://t.co/KBKBQQnB0u
🇨🇿: "We know that prohibition doesn't work. What works is a regulated #cannabis market." - Jindrich Voborik taking about State if Play in Czech Republic @cannabiseuropa
Devastating news.
Attempts to prevent the execution of Tangaraju Suppiah for cannabis offences (by family, activists, NGOs, various Govts, & the UN) have failed.
A few hours ago he was murdered by hanging, by the barbaric & shameless @govsingapore

🇱🇺Luxembourg: New cannabis legislation hoped to be passed before Chamber elections
'The state-controlled sale of cannabis is expected to be permitted in the context of an "experiment", similar to the way in which Germany plans on legalising it.' https://t.co/rEIc4wOrfg
Six months ago Germany said it would legalise recreational weed and create a £3.3bn market. But the slow process has been described as “snail racing after the snails had too many edibles.”

My message to govts at #CND66:
#WarOnDrugs has become a war on people, failing us all
Punitive drug policies destroy lives, public health & security by driving people underground & discriminatory incarceration
We need rights-based drug policies that save lives, not criminalise
I vape cannabis. I enjoy it most before I go for a run. I grow it on my balcony here in Brussels. This year I am growing strains called Pineapple Kush and Shogun. Zero money going to criminals. Plus I know exactly what I'm using. What could possibly be wrong with that?
