@DaleVince If all “income is the same” ( which it patently isn’t but fits the populist agenda) then unused band allowances for all years invested should be carried forward to the year of sale. Plus wealth tax has to happen so those who have benefited from historically low CGT pay as well
@afneil A number of very good contributions tonight until your usual achilles heal. What on earth has our relative performance vs other EU nations got to do with whether we’d have been better off staying in the EU?
@DaleVince@andyburnham Not an indexation allowance but income tax band allowances for all years invested. Don’t punish current investors helping companies grow…..particularly those who currently have no wealth to speak of
@DaleVince So I’ve supported private companies for the last 6 years with very little income barely using my personal allowance and now potentially face paying 45% on my gains. If “income is income” then allowances should be allowances over the life of the investment @andyburnham
@Miss_Internet@SECPaulSAtkins please look again Sir. The level of transparency and information given to Investors has been unparalleled through this project and it is totally unfair how SEC actions are impacting our investments
@kwill105@SamCKx@ZiaYusufUK So would non British citizens currently working and contributing be entitled to these benefits?
Universal Credit, housing benefit, jobseeker's allowance, child benefit, free childcare, and disability payments (such as PIP).
@RobertJenrick you’re whole speech was about CONTRIBUTION and yet non British citizens that have been “contributing”paying NI for years including c800,000 in the NHS and Social care would get nothing. Is that really what you are saying?
@RobertJenrick So the status quo is fine? that some people continue to lose their entire assets and home to subsidise those who can’t pay for their care home costs. you’ve already used the fantasy welfare and migrant savings ..25B to reverse NIC’s and 10B for defence. Stop gaslighting

@MelJStride@TheSun Since when have you been bothered about people being taxed for Social care?!!. People who have have to pay for their own care home costs are currently subsidising those in care homes who can’t pay. What is that if it’s not a stealth tax!! Wake up man
