@SolanaInstitute board: @fund_defi @defenddevspac

[Miller @millercwl]

I'm honored to be leading @SolanaInstitute as we work to educate policymakers on the incredible potential of decentralized networks like Solana. It's a pivotal moment for our industry, and we need clear rules to unleash the innovators building the digital economy of the future.

[Solana Policy Institute @SolanaInstitute]

🔆 We are excited to announce the launch of Solana Policy Institute (SPI), a new non-partisan, non-profit focused on educating policymakers on how decentralized networks like @solana are the future infrastructure of the digital economy—and why the people building on and using them need legal certainty to flourish. 🧵👇

[Gavin Zavatone @glzavatone]

This week, @fund_defi, @jump_ ,@paradigm, @SolanaInstitute and @Uniswap submitted a comment letter to @USTreasury on its proposed GENIUS Act Section 3 implementation rulemaking. The GENIUS Act established important statutory protections for DeFi and developers of blockchain technology. We believe that Treasury’s final rule must respect these statutory boundaries.

[Miller @millercwl]

Our job broadly at @solanainstitute is to make the case to governments around the world for the vision of an open, credibly neutral financial system, and to ultimately build a policy, legal and regulatory environment that allows for that vision to be realized.

A lot of the work and activity that occurs on public blockchains like @Solana is highly regulated: capital raising, trading of securities, trading of derivatives. We have a lot of work to do to change the rules that were designed for an intermediated legacy system and allow for that vision to become a reality.

Grateful to have made that case to leaders in Seoul at @kbwofficial 2026 and Solana Summit Korea.

[Mike Selig @ChairmanSelig]

.@HesterPeirce stood up for the innovators, builders, and entrepreneurs of the crypto community during years of debanking, regulation by enforcement, and prosecution by the prior administration when few others would.

America would not be the crypto capital of the world today if not for the clear-eyed and thoughtful perspective on regulatory oversight that she brought to bear day in and day out for years as an @SECGov Commissioner and leader of the agency's Crypto Task Force.

I applaud Commissioner Peirce for her more than eight years of public service. It has been an honor to serve with her. She has been a great influence on me and will no doubt inspire a new generation of lawyers in her next chapter as a professor.

[Landon @Landon]

Such an honor and a privilege, and full-circle experience in my career to have the opportunity to work for @HesterPeirce. @SECGov and crypto policy are better for her massive contributions.

[Rachel Green Horn @RachelGreenHorn]

It was a pretty special moment for me to introduce @Sen_Alsobrooks at SPI's Puck Power Breakfast breakfast.

I am ever grateful for her commitment to smart crypto policy, her belief in compromise, and her willingness to stay at the table.

I'm not a fan of accredited investor gating, but at least we're proposing to nudge the gate open a bit: https://t.co/ylpd8v0SRV

[Kristin Smith @KristinSmith]

1/ On Friday, @BlockchainAssn shared leadership transition news. I currently serve as the President of the BA Board, and on Oct. 17, I will temporarily step in as interim CEO to help guide BA to its next chapter.

During this time, my role as President of @SolanaInstitute will not change. I’m fully committed to realizing SPI’s mission and protecting @solana ecosystem builders in the U.S.

Few people have done more to bring principle and common sense to crypto policy than @HesterPeirce.

I’m grateful for her leadership at the SEC, and for her willingness to keep asking the hard questions about innovation, privacy, and individual freedom.

The hits keep coming and they don't stop coming.

Looks like @ChairmanSelig’s January remarks on leveraged crypto trading and August vision for a @CFTC crypto market structure are coming to life.

Let's go!

"This is making stocks onchain real stocks onchain."

@SolanaInstitute President @KristinSmith on today's innovation exemption from The SEC.

"So @solana qualifies from day one...The private bank chains do not." 👇

[Gavin Zavatone @glzavatone]

Commissioner @HesterPeirce's Statement on Today's @SECGov Innovation Exemption Order is one of the best characterizations of DeFi we've ever seen.

"What does the order not do? This order is not about decentralized finance. Truly decentralized systems that are driven by automated software do not give rise to the foundational concerns underlying securities regulation, namely that an intermediary you trust to act on your behalf will be foolish, careless, or compromised. An investor does not need an exemption to avail herself of permissionless smart contracts that mediate peer-to-peer trading."

Thank you, Commissioner Peirce, for your tireless leadership defending the values that matter to builders of blockchain technology and DeFi systems.

[Senator Cynthia Lummis @SenLummis]

Proud of my longtime staffer, Chris Land, for being named one of The Hill's 25 Most Notable Hill Staffers of 2026.

He has led our digital assets efforts and served as the lead policy staffer on the GENIUS Act and Clarity Act negotiations. Congrats, Chris!

Welcome to the golden era of US internet capital markets 🇺🇸

The @SECGov just issued an exemptive order that establishes clear rules for how traditional securities like stocks can be traded on “public, permissionless” blockchain infrastructure.

24/7 trading, instant settlement, programmable compliance, all under US regulatory oversight:

[Solana Policy Institute @SolanaInstitute]

1/ The @SECGov just issued an innovation exemption for onchain securities trading.

This framework has the potential to move trillions of dollars in existing financial assets onto “public, permissionless” blockchains like @solana, positioning the US as the home of internet capital markets.

[Tom Emmer @GOPMajorityWhip]

Great to join my friend Kristin Smith, President of Solana Policy Institute, yesterday.

Great to chat about all the good work happening under @POTUS and @RepFrenchHill. The United States continues leading the world in digital assets innovation.

[Paul Atkins @SECPaulSAtkins]

My thanks go to everyone who put so much effort into the CLARITY Act— across the Administration, Congress, investors, and innovators. Our collective conviction that America must continue to lead is indispensable.

I have been unequivocal: with or without legislation, we will act decisively within the SEC’s statutory authority to deliver certainty for American investors and for the entrepreneurs shaping our technological future.

Stay tuned.

[Solana Policy Institute @SolanaInstitute]

2/ As @SECPaulSAtkins put it on stage yesterday at Solana Summit DC: "[W]ith or without that legislation, this Administration will deliver for American investors and technological innovators.”

[Kristin Smith @KristinSmith]

I was in the room for the vote, and it was disappointing to watch live.

One way or another, we will get clarity for crypto. I look forward to working with Congress and the agencies to find the path forward.

Our work isn’t done.
