🥽💜 From Frozen to Focused: The Future of Maternal Health Training is Here.
Imagine facing a life-threatening childbirth emergency for the very first time—not in a textbook, but in a real delivery room.
For many healthcare students and young professionals, that moment can be overwhelming. Through the newly launched PPH School, we are changing that reality.
Using immersive Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR) technologies, learners can now step into realistic obstetric emergencies, repeatedly practice life-saving interventions, and build the confidence needed to act when every second counts.
As END PPH Project Lead, Prof. Moses Obimbo, notes, preparing a skilled workforce is one of the most important steps in reducing maternal mortality. By combining innovation, simulation, and education, we are equipping the next generation of healthcare providers with the tools they need to save mothers' lives.
This is more than technology.
This is preparedness.
This is innovation with purpose.
This is how we #ENDPPH.

At the PPH Foundation PPH School 2026 – Cohort 1, Dr. Brigitte Wandji delivered a powerful and foundational session on the overview of anatomy and physiology relevant to postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).
Her presentation reinforced how a deep understanding of maternal anatomy and physiological changes in pregnancy and childbirth is essential in anticipating, recognizing, and effectively managing PPH.
By grounding participants in the core biological systems involved in bleeding and hemostasis, the session strengthened clinical readiness and sharpened the lens through which healthcare providers approach obstetric emergencies.
A strong foundation in anatomy is not just academic — it is lifesaving in the fight to end preventable maternal deaths.

📚 Insightful discussions at PPH SCHOOL 2026: Cohort 1 as Dr. Kireki Omanwa, President of KOGS, delivered a powerful presentation exploring the barriers to prevention and management of maternal complications, and the critical interrelationship between the causes of maternal mortality.
The session highlighted the urgent need for stronger health systems, timely interventions, skilled care, and collective action to ensure that preventable maternal deaths become a thing of the past.
“Women are dying because we have not made a conscious decision that their lives are worth saving.” — Dr. Kireki Omanwa
