Our @endlab1@oseanography Sean Chen participated at #EGU25 in Vienna. Sean is a PhD candidate @MIT - @WHOI. He shared fascinating insights about deep cyclones in the Western North Atlantic.
Big news! @endlab1's Prof. Tom Peacock was a witness in a congressional hearing on deep sea mining on 4/29. His testimony covered the science, his team's leadership in research, the need for research funding, and key areas to focus on. https://t.co/p0dS5f31oL
Our very own Erin Hovendon is featured in @MIT's latest article on the importance of political science for STEM majors. Read more: https://t.co/Dypyko0oyL #STEM#ClimateChange#Policy
Congrats to Souha El Mousadik on the maiden voyage of the ENDLab's Blue Boat in the Port of LA! Configured from scratch with an impressive array of sensors, this tour-de-force is part of a CO2 capture field experiment at AltaSea with @capturaCO2 & supported by @mitenergy
Look who decided to join our field experiments today! 🦭 A curious harbor seal stopped by to check out our team's work at the Port of LA. Nature's own little scientist!
We are thrilled to announce that our lab member, Souha El Mousadik, won 3rd place for her outstanding poster presentation at the @mitenergy Future Energy Systems Center Fall Workshop! #Energy#mCDR https://t.co/JpzoDhbcc9
Excited to announce Erin Hovendon has been awarded a Super UROP to work with ENDLab on ocean Carbon Dioxide Removal tech! She’ll be at @AltaSeaOrg using Blue Robotics USVs and advanced sensors. Congrats, Erin!
Our continued collaboration with researchers at Pusan National University and INHA University in South Korea has generated a new publication regarding wind-induced influences in the abyssal Arctic Ocean. The article was recently published in JGR Oceans (https://t.co/2rFct76qJ0)
The ENDLab has received a $650K, 5-year @USNavyResearch MURI award to work with @Scripps_Ocean, Naval Research Labs, and others. We’ll advance and deploy instruments to measure sediment and turbulence in the abyssal ocean. Cruises off the US West Coast in 2026 and 2028.
Congrats to ENDLab’s Souha El Mousadik for achieving an incredible milestone - earning her PhD @MIT! 🎓Explore her thesis, ‘An in situ Investigation of Sediment Hydrodynamics for Advancing Seabed Mining Plume Monitoring and Modeling’ at https://t.co/wuNJ6AMcQg
Thank you to the many speakers at our Ocean Climate Solutions event. We are proud to be amongst such great researchers and entrepreneurs in this field, striving to heal our oceans.
Our thanks @ISBAHQ and @INESCTEC for an insightful workshop in Portugal! 🌊 Exciting discussions on harnessing advanced technologies for the sustainable use of the international seabed area. https://t.co/GogzHSjqON
ENDLab researchers were in LA, kickstarting monitoring for @capturaCO2's 100-ton carbon capture pilot. An exciting step in advancing MRV for #mCDR, showcasing how crucial it is to obtain near-field data for quantifying mCDR interventions 🌊🔬 #CarbonCapture#DirectOceanCapture
