Dear Paraag and Angus,
I post this in the full knowledge that you will likely never see this post, even less respond in any manner.
I however feel obliged to do so, as you are two appointed representatives of Leeds United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world, a club with a global following of several hundred thousand members, fans, well-wishers and regular onlookers.
Many of us are older, we remember the rollercoaster ride that has been the 70s, 80, 90s and on to this present day.
Many are new to football and to Leeds United but their love and support for the club is no less valid, they are our future, your future.
Within your following, there are rational football thinkers, philosophers, armchair experts, every category of person from casual result checker to fanatical supporter who breathes, eats, sleeps and dies Leeds United.
A section of us are extremely pleased to have 49ers Enterprises investment group as our owners in this modern day, business orientated, footballing sphere and are prepared to have patience and understanding with the club.
Nevertheless there is a growing disquiet within the Leeds United community.
For my own part, I have followed the club since 1975 and personally feel that the club is very possibly in the best hands that it has been in during my 49 years of consciously following Leeds United. For that you have my thanks and also those the thanks of many that I speak to.
However, we are not the majority.
Your desire to work in the shadows as regards club policy and the transfer-market are understandable and to a large degree admirable.
The last twelve months have been tumultuous, exhilarating, frustrating, littered with the highs and lows of being involved with a football club at this level, for you, for us, for Daniel and the players.
Despite the disappointment of Wembley, the general feeling has been one of optimism for what the 24/25 season will bring.
Though many of us understand the need to housekeep this summer, solidify the business and the reasoning for the large number of outgoings thus far, there is a very large and growing section of the Leeds United family that are worried.
We are a family right ?
When members of a family start to worry over an issue, senior members of that family have in my humble opinion a responsibility to address the root cause of the worry in a timely and rational manner.
I urge you to read the room as it were, there has been and still is a very large amount of goodwill towards our ownership but the credit side of that goodwill balance is depreciating, rather swiftly for many, for some it has fully gone into the red.
This is not a plea for transfer policy information, transparency around the business model/investment model or the composition of ownership equity.
It is quite simply a request for better and more frequent communication as regards addressing worry and escalating resentment and the general state of play.
Quite simply, talk to your family, we will listen, some will pick apart what you say and get even more irate, most of us however will not and would appreciate the gesture.
Again, we fully understand that this is a business and that you represent businessmen, however it is in essence a family business, if that family unit functions well it strengthens the business.
I urge you to not let small cracks in the tolerance and understanding that gels us together and propels us forward to develop into chasms and rifts that may be very hard to cross down the line.
