Sonia Dada is the single greatest unknown band to ever exist. Great songs. Great hooks. Great lyrics. Fantastic musicians. World class vocals. I'd stack their primary songwriter up against the very best (nothing to do with me, btw, just a fan).
Lots of name songs!
Anna Lee
Amazing Jane
Screaming John
Gordon
Zachary
Daisy
Lover, Lover
You Ain't Thinkin' 'bout Me
I Caught Sister Stealing
Digging on a Road
Paradise
Airplanes and Satellites
Lester's Methadone Clinic
Gone
Ragdoll
Check 'em out. They really are impossible to genre-fy and have wonderful live recordings/video.
The backstory behind the band is just as great as their songs and would make a fabulous movie.

My simple reply to this is, my parents had no understanding of government's capacity for corruption.
They believed the people they elected were in it to do the job, not rob the public till.
Some might say Nixon should have changed everyone's mind, but IMO that's too narrow a view.
I'm not sure Tricky Dick wasn't taken down by the swamp. In fact, I believe it more with everything I read.
Eisenhower warned of the shadow government as he left office.
JFK understood, and that's why he died.
At that moment, the swamp was in charge, but there was no way to know. The system kept chugging and the cabal took control for good.
We can see it now, but it was too far fetched to believe in real time.
'Conspiracy theory!'
Now, they don't even hide the corruption, because most 'voters' are too lazy and stupid to do anything about it.
@KateAltonWrites@autumn_inkblood I'm a plotter, but I do struggle with connecting my plot points sometimes. I wind up in the weeds of mundane stuff that feels important to the plot but is not compelling, and getting to my next point becomes a bit of hide and seek.
@autumn_inkblood Right now, my biggest challenge is suppressing my need to continuously create backstory to reinforce my main character's motivations.
It comes very naturally, but suddenly five pages have passed since the last 'thing' happened.
I've got to learn to moderate this.
@WarClandestine If you still can't see it, you're just dim.
The left has spent decades trying to tarnish and corrupt our nation.
How Americans can align themselves with that is beyond me.
@pitsenberger@MericaCulture Getting a bath once you arrived wasn't exactly a simple task, either.
I'd have made a terrible 1870's person.
I like being clean.
