@LouHugh62530699@Teacherglitter the decision to not allow holidays isn't made by teachers either. be pissed off all you like - just aim that at the right people, not the ones who are doing their best with what they're given.
My class is like the surface of the sun. Teachers get grief when schools close. Teacher here. It’s never my decision. All school closures are not my decision. And if that happens, SLT do it as they have decided they can’t keep ur kids safe. Reminder that it is to keep them safe.
that’s the question isn’t it. what WILL she do? there are no youth clubs for her to attend. food, cinema tickets, any sort of third space activity is all too expensive. their parents are underpaid, saturday jobs don’t exist any more, children have truly been abandoned by the govt
Following a few requests from teachers and school leaders, I've made short video on the key ideas that I think teachers (and parents/carers) need to know about reading development, based on my reading concept map.

I’m by no means an expert, but last time I did a little thread of ways to save money people said it helped, so here’s an updated version if you want to save some pennies in the run up to the Christmas season 🎅🏻🎄👇🏼
Made another retrieval/revision booklet for our year 11s to complete over half-term hols in preparation for their mocks when we return.
Features: AIC, Power & Conflict poetry, Lang paper 2 revision. Ideal for tailoring to your own mocks. https://t.co/ITPu9obiTh
Today I’ve found out about Rewordify and I’m blown away! You can copy text and it will create word banks for you. Great for creating resources for low ability students 🤌🏻
How to “mark” 28 books in 27 minutes.
1. Read them all.
2. Make notes (www, ebi, common grammar & spelling errors) as you go.
3. Type notes up on ppt slide & focus DIRT tasks on areas that need improvement.
Done.
Well, that's me done on this poem. Dropbox is here, with the other poems I have done so far. I love this new anthology, so I hope this helps someone!

Ok five years ago I sent out a load of micro tips for new teachers getting ready for September.
By popular demand (literally nobody) here they are again!
In dept CPD we discussed how to make retrieval more strategic, encouraging connections between ideas. I was thinking how best to do this. This AIC resource gives students statements to debate, pulling in knowledge from across AIC….1/2
