We produce a monthly newsletter about #womeninengineering in the news, professional development events around #Toronto, and share other great media like books and podcasts about #STEM. Our next issue comes out next week, don't miss it! https://t.co/JiROL4JtI3
I just reviewed 4 proposals for an engineering design/construction project. Each one submitted 8 key personnel resumes. Guess how many of the 32(!) resumes are females? Hint- it’s above 1 but less than 3... yep 2/32. And they were both the same firm. MORE WOMEN IN STEM PLEASE! 😑
Wondering why Canada has a 30by30 project to support #women and achieve 30% licensed #engineers be women by 2030? This graph shows why: in 26 years, women’s representation in #engineering#education has increased very slowly. Proactive intervention is now needed. @PEO_HQ
Latest EngGirlProblems blog post by @AlvinPilobello about Male Allyship in the Disrupted Engineering Workplace. While originally written with male allyship in mind, we can all listen and show up more for all of our colleagues in the engineering workplace.

My biggest achievement yet- (NERVOUS) me in @CityHallLabour alongside directors, researchers and CEO’s talking ways to tackle inequality in stem. This is my response to #blm - working on positioning myself to internally push for change #WomenInSTEM#womenintech#BlackTechTwitter
Hey faculty - when students point out the lack of diversity and inclusion in #academia, replace:
"I've been doing [xyz] to promote diversity and inclusion."
with:
"I will work to do better because the current efforts aren't enough."
