Need a way to solve this? If you’re interested in how other #designOps professionals manage @figma and this issue, there’s an ongoing discussion in @DesOpsAssembly. Please DM me too. I can share my process.
Unless #UX teams upgrade to the next tier (Enterprise) in @figma, #designOps professionals need to create elaborate systems to monitor “self-upgrades” and avoid overages.
What’s the issue? It’s how @figma makes it easy for users to upgrade viewers to editors. Teams that budget for a certain amount of users must constantly monitor for new users that have upgraded themselves. #designops
It’s budget time for teams. And in #designops we need to look at the number of licenses we need for certain tools like @figma. If you are a UX Manager or do anything with operations and have Figma, then you should be aware of the tool’s access issues.
Appreciate all of the hard work the volunteers at @UXYall put into making a great experience for the #UX community in #Raleigh. Lessons from helping to build UX practices at multiple companies. It all started from crying in Alaska.
Before you begin, observe and question: Listen for resistance like “We don’t have time for research, testing, or fixing this problem.” From there, educate, advocate, and innovate! @engmatthew@ibm @ibmdesign
Thought provoking conversation about #DesignSystem and how it should address the product —> portfolio —> company —>… and then we got the subject of addressing regional sensibilities. #Asia. #Japan and then https://t.co/I8hI2ZqKil came up as an example of visual brain freeze.
I feel this is crucial for anyone #onboarding to a new team. It helps fill in gaps as to what their assumptions are and clarifies expectations #ux#designOps
At the beginning of my next 30 days of #onboarding as the #DesignOps manager for @resmed. I presented back to my team about who I am, what Ops is, and what to expect from me.
End of week 4 #onboarding as my teams new (and first) #designOps manager. Here’s one of the tools that I have adopted to help me make sense of all the information I am absorbing. #ux#Notebooks
My lesson(s) from the last time I onboarded to a new role was that I needed something I can easily go back to and remind myself of a conversation, idea, or reference. #Notebooks are a great, under celebrated tool. #UX#onboarding#designOps
Today I had an exciting conversation with a Sr. Technical Program Manager. We immediate learned where we can help each other on the planning and tracking side of #jira by pulling in #UX teams that are ready to integrate their issues on product boards.
Allies in #designOps are crucial. A lot of my work is to help with #UX integration such as getting our work visible and shareable with our #product teams.
