@SovernNation When we moved from Lafayette to rural OR, I laid out the big bucks for a whole-house emergency generator. In the event, power here has been MUCH more reliable. Utility's contractors work all year on tree-trimming, which helps a lot.

Sorry to hear of #NPR layoffs. I'm an old fart, yes, but their decision to focus on podcasting was ill-advised. There are no barriers to entry, so there's tons of competition. And, as an old radio news guy, I've always felt podcasts are just radio without the immediacy.
