Interesting how Zungeru was an important town in pre Independent Nigeria, going back to late 19th century, but went into obscurity in present day Nigeria.
- Capital of Northern Protectorate 1902 - 1916
- Got a railway station far back 1896
- Birthplace of legendary Zik & Ojukwu (whatever took an Igbo man there to birth Zik in 1904, not to talk of an even affluent Ojukwu family birthing Ikemba there in 1933, unlikely it was just any town - must be an economic powerhouse).
I wonder how such a historic town declined in national consciousness. Other historic towns of the era - like Lokoja and Calabar - grew and maintained some measure of importance in present day Nigeria. Zungeru should be in similar class today.
Any theory on the decline?
Liverpool getting Iraola scares me big time as a United fan. 18 games unbeaten since January and guiding Bournemouth to European football after losing Semenyo and 3 of his first choice back 4.
His style suits Liverpool more than Xabi Alonso.
We have about 8,000 MW of stranded generation capacity.
Why is Dangote's proposed 20,000 MW going to be different? Where will he deploy it and get his money back?
True. Tim really did Cook.
Took over Apple in 2011. Company was worth around $297 billion.
Built the Apple Watch. AirPods. M1 Silicon. Vision Pro.
Seven years in. Apple became the first trillion-dollar company ever.
By 2025, Apple hit a record revenue.
Today, Apple is roughly valued at $4 Trillion, from $297 billion. That’s 13x increase.
That’s some Hilda Baci type of cooking. Top level.
