Every application that uses DNS to connect() to an #IPv6 address also works without modification in our Linux implementation to talk to an Enhanced IP addresses. Thus, all the work to make apps IPv6 compatible would not be lost if people decided to pursue Enhanced IP!

@apnic Getting half a billion people IPv6 is no small feat. However, according to Wikipedia there are 7.7 billion people. How will you encourage the ISPs of the other 7.2 billion to use #IPv6? I don’t see how we get that many #IPv4 users to switch. Thanks for posting!

In 1999, I was informed by a sysadmin in the gravest manner possible the world is running out of IPv4 addresses and we had better support IPv6.
In 2018, I create a $5/month VPS and it comes with its own IPv4 address.
