"Shout-out to our fans. They stuck with us. It was an ugly, ugly game. We didn't bring it in the first half but they stuck with us. They stayed in them seats and they kept cheering for us and they kept finding ways to give us energy."
- Karl-Anthony Towns
This was over. It was so over. The Knicks were down 27 points at halftime, and down by 20 points in the second half. Everything had gone so, so wrong.
And then. And then.
It started with a 3-pointer from Jose Alvarado. A Mikal Bridges layup. A Karl-Anthony Towns 3-pointer. An OG Anunoby 3-pointer. Back and back the Knicks clawed, hitting singles, and the crowds — inside MSG and out — began to lean forward on their heels, then hop up and down nervously, and then scream like they’d been launched into space.
“The foresight, the athleticism, the persistence, the pure Anunoby-ness of that play will live on not just forever in Knicks history, but NBA history. It was the damndest thing you’ve ever seen,” writes Will Leitch.

many of us (in NJ) had never heard of Mamdani until pre-mayoral election when EVERYONE was demonizing him: old-timey Democrats, new-timey Republicans (i.e. MAGA). something seemed to suggest that this person represented quite a threat to establishment politicians & so it has developed, a "socialist mayor of NYC" (sic) who actually does something for citizens of NYC & not just wealthy property holders. they keep waiting & hoping for a catastrophe--let's hope they are mistaken.
(yet more weirdly, of all MAGA-swaggerers T***p appeared to have been impressed by him/ his popularity.)
@JoyceCarolOates I did this walk 10 years ago. It was on my bucket list. I grew up in NYC during 60’s -70’s. It was interesting to see how much has changed in various neighborhoods and how much has stayed the same.
I was at Delaney Hall yesterday. Everything the detainees wrote in their S.O.S. letter is 100% correct. DHS is lying to keep their abuses from being exposed.
And to make things worse, they pepper sprayed @SenatorAndyKim and are lying about it to cover their tracks.
DISGRACEFUL: ICE agents tear-gassed U.S. Senator Andy Kim at Delaney Hall detention facility in NJ today!
Kim was supporting hunger-striking detainees protesting spoiled food, no medical care & extreme heat when federal agents unleashed tear gas & pepper spray. Kim struggled to breathe & injured his hand in the chaos.
Donald Trump ran for office for three reasons:
1) stay out of jail
2) exact revenge on his enemies
3) line his pockets
Everything else he says is bullshit.
What happened in Virginia should concern everyone. We are getting a preview of what they’ll do in November. They will take your vote the second it doesn’t go their way. This is the test run.
