@briangatwood@NotABigJerk But I think that that’s a failure in Europe, students are specialized and put into a track far too early and it means they lack a lot of the well-roundedness that come from comprehensive education. It’s a huge issue with the students I teach (1 & 2 year uni students in the NL)

My Dutch nephew’s name is the English name Evan, but pronounced like it would be in Dutch- “ay-fan”. I don’t pronounce it the English way Bc that’s the origin, I say it how he is called.

@yedoye_ My senior year of HS I visited a university neuro lab Bc they thought I was a senior in uni. BUT 5 years later I met a friend of a friend who asked if I went to uni, so I said that I just graduated. He then asked if I was going to be a freshman the next year. No sir Im 22 not 17

@bcnbabe@DanielleStasko Yeah I live in the Netherlands and I get this question asked more than I ever have in the US, and way more people trying to pressure me to drink or make me feel guilty for not drinking. And from all European nationalities, not just the Dutch
