Why do bears intentionally rub on trees or other objects? Turns out that it's not just because they’re itchy, according to this new research! https://t.co/pHKhKV3Q02
@UWindsor I recently noticed that the U of W Campus Police were following Blue Lives Matter. As a proud alumni I am disgusted. What message does that send to the student body? I hope a formal apology will be sent out and EDI training for all campus police will be required AT THE VERY LEAST
= habitat loss for #polarbears, narwhal, belugas, bowheads, ringed seals, bearded seals, walrus & then almost everything in the ecosystem these species rely on.
Do we really need another company bottling water? The removal of 50 million liters of water annually from Galatea Creek in Kananaskis Country for transportation to a bottling facility in Calgary has sadly been approved. https://t.co/3ur6Khq5i8 via @CdnChange
Every minute a garbage truck of plastic is dumped into the seas. We catch seafood equivalent to the weight of China every year. We need to change course.
There's no time to waste. There's no planet B. #GreenNewDeal.

at 9000 and counting, #climatestrikeyeg is the BIGGEST RALLY IN EDMONTON SINCE THE 2003 ANTI-WAR MARCH, and Alberta's biggest climate protest EVER, beating our strike from just three (!) weeks (!) ago (!). All out for a just, liveable, and decolonized future✨
Welcome to Edmonton, @GretaThunberg! Apologies for the radical group of oil&gas workers that are riding the highway Mad Max style to come yell at you and all of the thousands of informed & concerned citizens that are coming out to support. Alberta - we are better than this!
Hey #UnitedWeRoll not sure if anyone has mentioned this to you yet, but you're not actually protesting Greta. You're protesting scientific consensus on a global scale. This is about as intelligent of a use of your time as protesting gravity. #abpoli#cdnpoli#GretaInAlberta
It's something I hear almost every day in Alberta: We have the world's cleanest oil. @markusoff from @macleans looked into it and the answer is no, we don't. Most of the world's oil is better for the climate than Alberta's oil patch, he found. https://t.co/9CAWsf25mk #ableg
.@GretaThunberg‘s trip to Alberta feels like a PRETTY GOOD reason to make a thread highlighting young ppl & others fighting for climate justice here. #ABleg has very few NGOs with climate staff, but grassroots movements are doing amazing work w/ little funding & lots of barriers.
