When my dear brother Ndindi Nyoro announced yesterday that he would be holding a media briefing today, many Kenyans believed he would use the opportunity to do two things…
First, declare that he is WANTAM. Second, announce which side of the opposition formations, Linda Mwananchi or the United Alternative Government he would be joining.
Unfortunately, my brother has once again failed to do either. For this reason, those of us who still believe Ndindi has a contribution to make in shaping the future leadership of this country must now say it openly… once again, he has failed the test of leadership.
My dear brother Ndindi, you are failing one of the most basic lessons in leadership and politics. When people are anxious, you don’t give them excuses, you offer direction. When people doubt your stance or loyalty, you don’t give them one more reason to doubt you, you clear their doubts. At a time when Kenyans and your supporters are restless, it was disappointing for you to call a media briefing simply to tell us that you need more time to make a decision.
You also spoke about issues and an agenda that you have been working on for a long time, which you intend to outline over the next 3–4 weeks. That is perfectly fine. But those ideas are not exclusive to you. You can champion them from either Linda Mwananchi or the United Alternative Government. What you cannot do is declare that you will go to war alone.
This battle will not be won by one person or on one issue. The economy is one of the key fronts, but there are many others. Every opposition leader brings different strengths, expertise and value to the table. If we are to succeed, everyone must be a team player.
Kenyans patience with you is wearing thin. You disappointed them last week and today you have only deepened that disappointment. Listening to you and observing your body language, I could not help but wonder whether something or someone is holding my brother hostage. Is he afraid of making certain decisions? Why is he being so cautious, as though he is afraid of ruffling some feathers?
Bro, the choices are now clear and time is no longer on your side. It is time to make the hard decisions, or forever hold your peace. Leadership ultimately demands courage and clarity.
Consider this a tough love message from your sister.
@barsitei_boit@C_NyaKundiH This is the most useless and baseless point I have heard from you. Matatu sector is nolonger owned by kikuyus as you alledge. Wakisii,Waluya na few luos have invested massively in the matatu sectors. You should have argued othawise abt Kamageras and Makanga.Feiliya!
This road was designed, the drawings were reviewed, and they were approved by Kenya National Highways Authority engineers. I have a simple question: do you believe those engineers approved drawings with an open drainage channel right next to a highway?
After construction, the road was inspected and certified for payment. Another question: do you believe the as-built drawings submitted to KeNHA showed an open drain running alongside a live carriageway?
If we assume it was only the resident engineers who was “seen” by the contractor to turn a blind eye to this obvious hazard, are we also saying that none of the directors at KeNHA have used this road or noticed the mistake?
There is nothing as destructive as corruption. It is a cancer that quietly takes lives, all for the sake of a few extra coins. And those who have the power to act but choose not to ,whether corrupt or simply indifferent ,are part of that harm.
We successfully held our first Financial Literacy Day an engaging and insightful session dedicated to advancing financial awareness and informed decision-making.
