This might have been too cheesy but I liked that Reacher's season ended on something so simple. After all the violence and chaos, seeing him share his cheesesteak with a homeless woman reminded me that there's more to his character than just fighting. He helps people even when there's no enemy to beat and nothing to gain from it.
