Since then, the use of PWV analysis has become widespread in the medical field as a tool for assessing cardiovascular health. It is used to detect arterial stiffness, which can be an indicator of cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, and atherosclerosis.
In 1848, the German physician Rudolf Virchow used a modified version of the technique to measure the pulse wave velocity of the aorta. This was the first accurate measurement of the arterial pulse wave velocity.
The thing is, most cardiovascular processes do not operate at such high frequencies. Heart rate, for example rarely exceeds 300 beats/min (5Hz). Mayer waves have a frequency of 0.1Hz. Heart rate variations associated with breathing are generally between 0.2-0.33Hz.

The German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer said that all truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Enjoy the process!

The Sequence Method was first described in 1985 by Bertinieri et al. in their paper titled "A new approach to analysis of the arterial baroreflex" published in the Journal of Hypertension.
It's no longer new. But it still works!

@brain_bfm Yes. The lack of convergent validity points to a construct validity issue. We might be measuring different aspects of the same system or measuring different systems entirely but assuming they are the same.
