"The way to greater American prosperity is encouraging people to move from lower productivity jobs in the public sector to higher productivity jobs in the private sector.” 3 assertions with no data. Many in the public sector routinely work SO HARD bec. of their passion about it.
Hey Jennifer, @BisforBerkshire - could you clarify the date for the webinar with PSPF? They have it advertised as on Thursday, Sept 18. Thanks! https://t.co/LXEtxAIa6P
Yes, I HAVE read the book, but I still registered for the webinar - you should too! Public Funds Public Schools welcomes Jennifer Berkshire & Jack Schneider on Thursday, September 18, 3 p.m. to discuss their new book, The Education Wars: A Citizen’s Guide and Defense Manual.
@Edu_Historian @pdkintl Fascinating! Thanks for all of your work in this area. I too have been fascinated and then confused by casual remarks about "bad schools". "How do you judge that?" I ask. "Oh - I just heard." is the response.
@PickleVermont I continue to be just stunned when I hear friends say that they don't even have home tests and who don't test when gathering with others. Lots of places have free tests available - go get them and use them!
@BisforBerkshire I am so sick of people equating a good education with getting a job. There is more to education than that! And "competing for internships" assumes that competing is a virtue in itself and that one lives in an area where there are sectors to which one wants to aspire. Grr.
@BisforBerkshire Wow! Thank goodness for your excellent journalistic / research skills! I was unaware of this little gem. This is what you are referring to in the "fanning the flames" (p. 61) section in "The Education Wars"?
