One way to avoid tribalism is to prioritize the core value that you care about most. This helps in all facets of life and especially in crypto.

Easier said than done and I’ve given into crypto tribalism many times before, starting as a #Bitcoin maxi. But if you deeply believe in something more general than the specific tribe you’re in, it helps you see things clearer than you otherwise would. We tend to focus too much on the short-term incentives and identity of the tribes we’re in and it can easily distract us from the bigger picture.

The core value I prioritize is authenticity. To me being authentic is being uniquely true to oneself and not caring about what others think in the short-term. It’s sticking to your guns regardless of what the popular sentiment is.

Authentic crypto founders tend to build first of their kind products that make the biggest impact. This is true of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Coinbase, MakerDAO, Opensea, Cryptopunks and many other category pioneers.

That’s not to say that founders who care a lot about what others think short-term and fast follow are bad. Many fast followers have done incredibly well in crypto and there’s a fast follower frameworks that kills it no doubt. It’s just that in a world where it’s increasingly easy to copy and harder to tell what’s human and what’s AI, leaning into authentic humanity is the approach that makes most sense to me.

Two nights ago I was driving by Bayside Marketplace in Miami and there must have been over 200 cop cars.

Some of my friends told me they could hear the sirens echoing throughout the whole city it was that loud!

Anyway, we stopped the car to ask people what the hell was going on and the answers I got back were crazy….

As I pulled my iPhone out to record, I was abruptly ushered back into my car by the police and told to not ask any questions or interview people!

It’s gets weirder.

As we started driving away the electricity went out in the surrounding areas which completely freaked me and my girlfriend out.

I’ve been contemplating making a video about this but thought I need to say what I saw and heard.
