Honored to meet with Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto (@WilliamsRuto). We discussed the partnership between the United States and Kenya on a range of regional and security issues, as well as opportunities to expand U.S.-Kenyan commercial and investment opportunities.
We discussed U.S.-Kenyan cooperation to respond to Ebola and I thanked President Ruto for his steadfast partnership. Both of our nations have vital roles to play in fighting this outbreak and protecting our populations. The United States has contributed over $200 million in direct support to the Ebola response, in addition to $350 million for Ebola response and other humanitarian assistance in the DRC, South Sudan, and Uganda, as part of our $1.8 billion contribution to UN OCHA.
We also covered he critical importance of achieving a humanitarian truce in Sudan, followed by a permanent ceasefire. We emphasized that external actors must cease fueling the conflict through military support to the warring parties. We highlighted the announcement of the June 8 joint statement on the Sudan political track. This is an important document developed by a coalition of multilateral institutions – including the AU, IGAD, Arab League, EU, and UN - reaffirming the international commitment to a peaceful, democratic, and stable future for the country, as well as to sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
One day, you will pay school fees, hospital bills, and salaries.
You will stay awake calculating figures while others sleep peacefully.
It is the day you will realize your father carried a weight you never understood.
Now it is your turn,
The burden is heavy, but it is SACRED.
Your FATHER carried it, now carry it for your son.

@NelsonHavi A politician’s job isn't to build the Church... In fact, it's no one's job but God's... Jesus said, "I will build my Church," and He’s more than capable of handling that in His wisdom.
People need to stop using the faith as a front for con artistry and siphoning public funds.
As we approach the 2027 Presidential elections, it's crucial to understand the complexity and rigor of the electoral process. Based on my experience, here are some key insights into the high stakes involved in these petitions:
- **Production Component**: Managing the workload for a Presidential election petition is monumental. A team of over seven lawyers collaborates with at least 50 casual workers to photocopy, categorize, and bind three sets of more than 46,000 Form 34As, along with numerous other election forms. The Supreme Court Act mandates the IEBC to submit these forms within 48 hours of result declaration.
- **Reviewing Allegations**: Each allegation raised in the petition requires preparing an affidavit for each polling station, totaling around 500 affidavits for polling station issues and 10 major affidavits from senior IEBC staff. This phase demands at least 25 lawyers working 18 hours a day for three days.
- **Quality Control**: Following the review, a meticulous editing process is essential. A team of more than 10 lawyers dedicates 20 hours of continuous work to ensure affidavits, responses, and submissions are error-free.
- **Case Preparation**: Assembling a capable team for court responses is critical. If a court orders scrutiny and recount, it may require an additional group of 15 lawyers, emphasizing the importance of having the best team in place.
The experience gained from participating in these petitions is invaluable, particularly given the significant impact the outcome of a Presidential election has on the country's socio-economic and political stability. A single error can lead to costly consequences for taxpayers, highlighting the necessity of diligence and precision in this process.
ELOG is excited to collaborate with @skiika254 to engage the Westlands Bunge La Mwananchi under the CFLI project. This is an interactive civic dialogue where citizens share their views on priority electoral reform areas, including election management, legal reforms, voter registration, youth participation, and the inclusion of marginalized groups.
This engagement aims to bridge the gap between policy discussions and real citizen experiences, ensuring that reforms reflect the realities and aspirations of the people.
Democracy is strongest when citizens are heard.

@NelsonHavi This is what your brother sir @DrBKhalwale should be engaging in livestock production and management. Bull fighting isn't an economic activity. Talk to him and seduce him to discard this zinjathropic idea
His Excellency President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta, the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya, attended the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government held from 14th to 15th February 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he participated in several engagements, including the official opening session and a closed-door meeting with sitting Heads of State and country representatives.
Why did the government conceal Raila’s health status?
Why did the government secretary fly Raila to India?
Why did the government fly baba to such a remote area in India to seek for medical help?
What does the regime know about Raila’s health status and the subsequent death that we don’t?
Where was @orengo_james coming from when he made that statement?
Today’s scenes in Kitengela tell a political story louder than any press conference. When a leader once pushed to the margins rises to command such public energy, it reveals something profound about the shifting ground beneath power. If sidelining voices was meant to weaken them, why does it now appear to have strengthened them instead? Could it be that attempts to outmanoeuver critics are fast becoming a disadvantage for Kasongo? #RutoMustGo
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s handshake with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to be in the offing; it looks like a bubble that may soon burst.
Gachagua, for the recent past, has been out defending Uhuru after he came under attack from several leaders, especially from the Western region.
During his address to the nation, he defended him, particularly after he was threatened that his benefits would be withheld due to his active engagement in politics post-retirement.
