Kurien was not a board member as he was not a farmer so had no say in any decision making power. Kurien was a paid employee hired by Tribhuvandas in 1950. 4 years after Dairy was formed.

@ByRakeshSimha Fact Check - People do not know that Amul name was suggested by Maganbhai Patel of Agriculture College who sat as a board member of Amul. Shri Tribhuvandas Patel (Founder) was suggesting Amulya and when Amul was suggested by Maganbhai, board approved it.

The White Revolution happened pre independence when farmers revolted against British run Polson. Everything else is/was expansion after Morarji Desai govt came to power. Until then tenders were filled for military for milk powder.
