It's Christmas and New Years time and the ER is already experiencing bloody vomits on the floor and the ICU is busy with tubes going down windpipes. Alcohol serving its purpose. Government gets their tax and hospitals their payments.
Why RAM sticks and SSD prices have shot up in the past few months, and whether it will stabilise in the near future. https://t.co/ylszv0sRBK via @finshots
IMPORTANT!
Dear friends, we need your help.
The Citizens Generics vs. Branded Drugs Project is now LIVE! for your contributions.
India is the "Pharmacy of the World," supplying 20% of global generic medicines. Yet millions of Indian patients remain trapped between unaffordable branded drugs and generics they don't trust.
We're changing that through citizen-funded science.
The question we're answering: Is your affordable medicine just as effective as the expensive brand—or are you compromising your health to save money?
Our project analyses essential medicines across critical therapeutic categories to rigorous laboratory analysis:
✅Antibiotics - Azithromycin, Amoxicillin, Rifaximin
✅Heart & Blood Pressure - Telmisartan, Amlodipine, Clopidogrel, Atorvastatin, Aspirin
✅Diabetes & Gout - Metformin, Febuxostat
✅Digestive Health - Pantoprazole, Omeprazole, Ranitidine, UDCA
✅Pain & Inflammation - Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Prednisolone
✅Allergy & Respiratory - Montelukast, Cetirizine
✅Thyroid & Supplements - Thyroxine, Folic Acid, Calcium+Vitamin D
For each medicine, we compare Branded Drugs, Branded Generics, Jan Aushadhi, Trade and Local Generics (State Government, Generic Aadhar & Dava India)—testing what patients actually buy from pharmacies.
22 types of medicines, 2-4 categories, 133 drugs in total!
All testing is conducted in FDA & NABL-accredited laboratories using country standards:
- Weight Variation Test — to ensure uniformity of dosage units within a batch
- Identification — to confirm authenticity of the active pharmaceutical ingredient
- Assay Testing — Does the tablet contain what the label claims?
- Dissolution Testing — Does the medicine release properly in your body?
- Impurity Profiling — Are there harmful contaminants?
This project is 100% publicly funded with your help! —no pharmaceutical company sponsorship, no conflicts of interest.
Every Indian deserves medicines that are safe, effective, and trusted—regardless of price.

Always remember. The thoracic and lumbar spines connect to ribs which surround the lungs, and provide connections from the central nervous system. Without them the lungs wouldn’t function, and would essentially collapse, there would also be no nerve pathways for muscle control. This is why people without a spine can never speak up for anything properly and are usually found on bended knees.
Yes, India's first semiconductor fab in Dholera is a joint venture between Tata Electronics and Taiwan's PSMC, involving technology transfer for 28nm chips. Production is slated to start with samples by late 2025. Globally, TSMC plans 2nm mass production in H2 2025, while 28nm debuted around 2011.
For a nation that taxed notebooks, pencils etc at 12% and calls it a gift when exempting it, we should be worried. All this, while the real business model is:
1. To impose an entrance exam at every stage, push people to coaching and charge 18% GST.
2. Permit degree mills to prosper and push students to skilling courses to become employable (and charge taxes when you earn).
The real model is the education services charged at 18%. Not the erasers and pencils exempt from GST.
There’s something fundamentally wrong on how @HDFCLIFE is selling Insurance policies as investment policies. These policies have decades of lock in with zero scope of liquidity & incomplete disclosures…

Hello, clinical doctor here.
Diet sodas are metabolically healthier than natural and refined sugars sweetened beverages. This has been proven in "switch-from" sugar to artificial sweeteners studies multiple times.
Scientists have studied artificial sweeteners for decades, and none has been shown to cause cancer in people at the amounts found in diet drinks or other foods. Aspartame is labelled “possibly” cancer-causing by ONLY ONE agency based on low quality of evidence, but major regulators in the U.S. and Europe say the current use limits are very safe.
The scary rodent studies involved feeding animals doses hundreds to thousands of times higher than what humans ever consume, and the tumours often arose from features unique to those animals.
People need to go back to reading, rather than consuming spoon-fed misinformation from social media. Just stop with this old and nonsensical fearmongering on zero and low calorie sweeteners.
And don't bring that stupid artificial sweetener and gut microbiome study here. It has zero clinically relevant human implication at present.
No income tax payable for up to 12 Lakhs income is HUGE and a commendable step by Prime Minister Modi’s government. A big relief for the middle class that was feeling crushed. A lesson to all bhakts—questions and criticism lead to change.
While we enjoy the convenience of quick commerce I’d like my first tweet of 2025 to be about the dark side.
Platform owners exploit gig workers & they aren’t job creators.
They are landlords without owning any land.
They don’t have a bone of creativity or innovation all they do is exploit people by offering them freedom that they can’t afford while giving them wages that can’t meet their aspirations.
They are thugs that are using data as oil without paying for the oil fields.
Someday there will be regulation that humbles them…
Graham Staines a missionary who was fluent in Odiya and local santhali dialects visited the state in '65 to meet his penpal and never left. During Baripada fire he and his wife nursed many when state hospital couldn't manage load. And yes, 22 families had converted+
Dr. Manmohan Singh said that history would remember him kindly. I’m happy to see that’s the case on social media today. He had a sense of humour. Leaders mean different things to different people, I can only speak to my experience. Personally, I remember being in my 20s and doing jokes about him on prime time bulletins at CNBC with our team having been made fully aware his office was watching and we’re okay with it. He was the most powerful man in the country and we were doing jokes about him five nights a week on a mainstream news channel, that weren’t even that great because we were utterly immature. Mind you this wasn’t even on a comedy show but as a part of a 9pm news bulletin that every businessperson in the country watched. Think about how far fetched that seems today. The mark of a truly great, secure, and humble leader, to my profession, is the ability to take a joke. Great leaders understand that’s part of the job, that powerful politicians and jest have always been historically intertwined for centuries, and that taking humour within grace makes them so much greater. A politician who can take a joke is truly powerful, and a politician who can make a joke about themselves is admirable, and invincible. In that respect, he stood tall above any Indian leader in my lifespan. Rest in peace sir 🙏
