@texasrunnerDFW I realize I'm in the minority, but I kinda feel like we already have 4th of July for the flag. Memorial Day should be about the people who died.
@RealStockCats I heard a well-followed housing market analyst describe the completely-normal equities dip a few weeks ago as a "massive pullback." Nobody has any perspective anymore.
@texasrunnerDFW people never expect to get what they paid with cars, jewelry, or pretty much anything else. Yet for some reason that logic goes out the window when listing their remodeling costs.
@texasrunnerDFW@BankerBeaver It never is. The people who get the new money first make out like bandits, and everybody else has a significantly less pleasant experience.
@BobMurphyEcon "everybody knows he is full of shit, so therefore anything he says is okay" is a truly bizarre argument. Not only for the reason you mentioned, but it makes you wonder just what the man could say that they wouldn't defend on this basis.
@BobMurphyEcon A tidally-locked satellite with an orbital period equal to host planet around star, that also lives in permanent eclipse by host planet could stay in perpetual darkness.
That's not the case with the Earth's moon, or any moon in our solar system, so what's the missing nuance?
@BobMurphyEcon The funny part is, this isn't even a photo of the "far side" of the moon. It's a photo of the west side, which includes portions of both the near side and the far side.
@SandLot84 No, you're not crazy. I'd say, "Your kids asked me for help. I helped them. They wouldn't give me a way to call you. The rest is between you and them."
@ClayTravis and you only talk about the market when it's up, or when you think a bounce is coming so you can say "I told you so" later. What's your point?
@BobMurphyEcon Yes, the real problem was he was giving us Epistemology 101 to sound smart. Anyone who is smart already knows this as they deal with people in the last category all of the time. And they can tell when someone is stalling with pedantry instead of answering a question.
@texasrunnerDFW I have determined there are certain people (e.g., healthcare, CADs) that believe they have the right to 10-20% increases every single year, regardless of what prices may be doing in the overall economy. i.e., they believe the rest of us owe them a life of comfort.
@SlopeOfHope I'd be ok with reverting back to the DoW name, if we also went back to Congress declaring war. Otherwise it's having your cake and eating it too.
@McClellanOsc I've never seen a primary source citation for this indicator, only secondary. Many will say it came from WOWS, but it's not in there. Only the 2-1 indicator is in there. Amazing how much commentary there is on this thing, yet nobody ever says specifically where it came from.
