Today, students and coaches from 13 high schools gathered to compete in Number Sense, Calculator Applications, General Mathematics, &Science. I’m grateful for Mr. Mike Harmon, who has helped organize math meets for over 30 years. We need community support. Who wants to help?

Yesterday I prouldy testified in front of the State Board Of Education. I am part of a workgroup refreshing TEKS in engineering classes and creating TEKS for new courses. It was a wonderful learning experience. We have one more meeting to address SBOE and public feedback.

What a busy week of math meets! 1st high school math meet this year after Thursday middle school math meet. 12 high schools are here today. Love to spend my time with the dedicated math educators.

Dozens of math coaches, volunteers and hundreds of middle school students attended the local middle school math meet last night. I love spending my time with these wonderful math community. 6 of my current college students volunteered in the event.

Today, our @EPCCmath faculty @IvettteC, Sandra, Edith, and I provided HB 5 training to our local high school math teachers at Region 19. I was having a lot of fun showing them #explodingdots &how to help students making connections between prior knowledge and new concepts.
