Today, students and coaches from 13 high schools gathered to compete in Number Sense, Calculator Applications, General Mathematics, &Science. I’m grateful for Mr. Mike Harmon, who has helped organize math meets for over 30 years. We need community support. Who wants to help?

Show that the value of a^2 + b^2 is independent of which pair of opposite points one chooses!

Yesterday I prouldy testified in front of the State Board Of Education. I am part of a workgroup refreshing TEKS in engineering classes and creating TEKS for new courses. It was a wonderful learning experience. We have one more meeting to address SBOE and public feedback.

The one I've drawn is "two-colorable:" it is possible to color each interior region one of two colors so that no two regions of the same color share a common length of the loop. (Meeting at single points is okay.)

Dozens of math coaches, volunteers and hundreds of middle school students attended the local middle school math meet last night. I love spending my time with these wonderful math community. 6 of my current college students volunteered in the event.

mean = "arithmetic mean" --> arithmetic sequence
mean = "geometric mean" --> geometric sequence

Today, our @EPCCmath faculty @IvettteC, Sandra, Edith, and I provided HB 5 training to our local high school math teachers at Region 19. I was having a lot of fun showing them #explodingdots &how to help students making connections between prior knowledge and new concepts.
