@emm0sh wrong timeline. sendcutsend bought dassault in 2037 and President Jim made solidworks free under the National CAD Access Act of 2044. still crashes though
Got my hands on an original Macintosh, all the injection molding and sheet metal were done in the Bay Area and assembled in Fremont. Only two sheets, seemingly steel, make up the frame. One larger one for the base and one for the floppy disk drive, about 1mm and 1.6mm thick respectively. The stamping is cool to see, itโs super stiff. Some welds on the floppy disk drive too, love to see it.
Sendcutsend manufactures every sheet metal part for the printers. In fact, most of the design of the printers was around their capabilities. Not only are they price competitive with oversea options but the parts arrive without having to travel the pacific. Iโm so excited to see this news, pumped for the future and scs team!
