Wonder whats changed??
As the United States expanded westward following the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, the U.S. government systematically stripped the Osage (Native American tribe) of their ancestral lands through a series of treaties.
โMissouri to Kansas - (1808โ1825):
The Osage were forced to cede their homelands and move to a reservation in southern Kansas.
โKansas to Oklahoma (1870โ1872):
Under heavy pressure from white settlers and railroad companies, the tribe was forced to sell their Kansas reservation.
A Strategic Choice: Unlike many tribes whose reservations were assigned by the government, the Osage used the $1.25-per-acre proceeds from their Kansas land sale to buy their own reservation from the Cherokee Nation in northeast Oklahoma (modern-day Osage County). Because they bought the land outright, they secured a unique legal position that would change their history forever.
The Oil Boom and the "Reign of Terror"
โIn 1894, massive oil reserves were discovered beneath the rocky, seemingly infertile Osage reservation. Led by visionary tribal members like Principal Chief James Bigheart, the tribe negotiated the Osage Allotment Act of 1906. While the surface land was divided among members, the tribe successfully fought to retain collective ownership of all subsurface mineral rights in perpetuity.
โEvery registered member received a "headright"โa share of the oil royalties. By the 1920s, the Osage Nation became the wealthiest community per capita in the entire world.
โThe Reign of Terror (1920s)
โThis immense wealth drew targeted corruption and malice from outsiders. The U.S. government instituted a deeply racist "guardianship" system, declaring many full-blood Osage "incompetent" and forcing them to have white legal guardians manage their money.
โWhat followed was a dark period known as the Osage Reign of Terror.
Dozens of wealthy Osage men and women (most famously the family of Mollie Burkhart) were systematically murdered via poisoning, shootings, and bombings by white plotters seeking to inherit their lucrative headrights. The scale of the murders eventually triggered one of the first major homicide investigations by the newly formed Bureau of Investigation (later the FBI), uncovering a massive local conspiracy
I was having an intense conversation with some parents about the lawless driving thanks to inept legal systems and nil fear of legal consequences due to the laxities of our police force
Its dangerous for our kids to cross roads, ride bicycycles, bikes or jog on roads as some errant spoilt kids might run them over while performing an inexperienced speed test with his car while high on a less detectable joint.
Somewhere through the discussion I got the feeling that a few parents were very quiet through it cuz they were more concerned that the petition was Against 'their own kids' as the potentially errant drivers.
There is a lack of fear even when killing someone in a hit and run.
It's easy for the police to delay a blood test if not switch it.
It's easy to delay investigation.
Judges are corruptible
Lawyers swing the system
Road traffic accident tribunal is a sham and a disgrace to a developing country like India.
Life is cheap because we are made to believe that.
There have been so many accidents with parents losing their kids and families losing their loved ones YET they're is no change in the crap law that grants instant bail and delays blood tests.

My heart goes out to the Mattoo family. And I will keep trying to make even a small difference to bring some accountability in our cold heartless illogical and corrupt system.

While I admire the work of the regulator #sebi but there is such a thing as #micromanagenent and #missingthewoodsforthetrees
This ASM system seems to have been weaponisised and is destroying volumes in many stocks.
Meanwhile some cos shows 500k cr in sales and near losses and get away for many years. Wheres their financial analysis of fraud preemption there???
Added more #themismedicare themis medicare to get recent buy avg lower. Not gone whole hog to 5% portfolio as I'm still only relying on some calculated conjecture and will wait for more confirmation post 20th may nos
#Bmc#mumbai needs to be taken to task. The richest Govt body takes the very citizens that contribute to its fat kitty for a complete ride with third class service and primitive caveman technology.
I nearly lost my son in a car accident and found him in the sh*ttiest hospital I can imagine with zero equipment or an ambulance to take him to a better hospital. It was a decrepit shell and that too in Mumbai . I've paid crores in taxes in the past and lacs more like me but received nothing but a long #ropeofhope.
I feel my heart sink everytime I see the Pic of the mother and relive the time we went through this.
God bless the little soul, all the strength to the parents
And
Curses to the fat good for nothing babus sitting in the bmc office with no regard for the lives of the people that feed them
"He has to go play."
Says the mother, clutching the bat of her son, Vihan, 11, who died after a tree fell on the school bus he was travelling in, in Mumbai. She says her son will return and go play, just as he did every day after school.
All of you, especially those who have children, can imagine the unbearable pain she must be going through. You bring a life into this world. You love them, nurture them, teach them values, witness their first smile, their first word, watch them run into your arms when you come home from work, and create countless precious memories. Once you become a parent, your children become your entire world. The thought of losing them is something no parent should ever have to endure.
This fate would still have been understandable had it been a truly unavoidable accident. But, as usual, there were warning signs. Residents of the area where the tree fell on the bus had repeatedly complained to the BMC about the condition of the trees.
In fact, the Garden Dept of BMC had also warned the Road Dept of BMC that road excavation was damaging tree roots, making the trees vulnerable to collapse during the monsoon. It asked them to stop digging near roots, remove the debris and warned it would be held responsible if any tree fell. But it wasn't taken seriously.
Now, the mayor has ordered an inquiry. Now, tree pruning will begin. Now, every necessary action will be taken. Sarkari kaam hota hai, lekin balidaan ke baad. Vihan ne balidaan de diya hai. Ab kuch dino tak sab kaam honge.
Hitting an all time high in your portfolio is like a resistance wall. You keep getting pushed back as many of your stocks are stretched and you don't switch them, then wait for the next leg of the rally but more important to hover around the high point and then break out... when its time.

This chart has been living rent-free in my head.
A lot of mindsets and attitudes can be explained by this, and many social conflicts can be predicted as well.
For themis medicare #themismedicare though there is a halt in usage of one of their a aesthetic injections till an investigation is conducted. This particular product is just 3-5% of total sales.
TML owns 1000 cr of Gujarat themis. That is a % wise direct correlation. If gtbl moves up 5% TML should move up 2-5% (given holding Co discount)
Indigo has taken the joy out of flying. The most dreaded part of a vacation or a biz trip is the flight with #Indigoair.
8 hr journeys feel like 24 hrs. No entertainment. Pathetic train style service and commercialisation.
Its not the same when you fly with a Singapore air or Cathay
Paid โน2,500 extra for Indigo UpFront expecting a premium experience.
Instead of the wrap I had pre-booked, I was served a samosa and a โน10 tea packet.
I returned the samosa. A โน2,500 samosa is a little hard to digest. You can keep itโit may help your profit margins.
If this is what Indigo calls โpremium,โ itโs time to rethink the product.
@indigo
Capitalist mindset is needed to prior to having a socialist mindset.
You need money to help others. Otherwise it's just propoganda and romanticized fake sentiment
Support the industrialist who can deliver jobs, productivity infra at scale.
Don't just throw stones cuz it's in fashion.
"In India, the comman man always abuses the Rich and the Industrialists. This has become a fashion nowadays.โ
"For example, in any ceremony, a Filmstar and an Industrialist is present, the minister will first go and greet the Filmstar. So we should have the mindset of supporting industrialists"

There is that exhilarating moment when you see Indian manufactured products being used on overseas ground... Even more so when the local citizens using it don't know the brand is Indian ๐ฎ๐ณ
