The NCAA banned Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” during March Madness to maintain neutrality at Virginia Tech’s Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, VA. The Virginia Tech Hokies Women’s Basketball team had used the song as entrance music with permission from Metallica. Despite the ban, Virginia Tech fans responded by loudly chanting the song’s lyrics, and the Hokies went on to beat Chattanooga 58–33.
