TRUE Mhofu. But deeper must our thoughts plough. You spent the last few days talking about jobs exported to SA, the very same SA now chasing SADC job seekers away.

SADC countries outside SA have a combined higher population than SA. Zim has a higher population than the largest province by population in SA. A huge proportion of SA industry's output in FMCG products actually goes outside SA into SADC - keeping jobs in SA. The notion that Zim and other SADC countries don't have a big enough market or enabling environment to invest in factories must be debunked. Policy in Zim and other SADC countries needs to change so as to force some hands to invest in factories to produce goods we see on our shelves and misika, all from SA. Jobs must be created for locals. We can't just be good as markets and not good as investment destinations and local job creation. Very high tarrifs on imports are needed, including absolute bans on commercial importation of some commodities. Freeze export of semi processed mineral commodities to encourage investment in value addition and refining locally. Ndiko kuvaka nyika. As painful as it will be at the beginning for some, the reward will be reaped in due course.
