Huge shoutout to the Unabomber movie for inventing a fictional FBI girlboss played by Shailene Woodley and making her the face of solving a 17-year case that was actually cracked after Ted Kaczynski’s own brother turned him in.
Imagine rewriting real history just to give a fictional character her big hero moment. So much for telling the truth.🎬🍿
Unpopular opinion: Arya Stark’s revenge arc was more interesting than her actual ending.
Her transformation from a frightened little girl into a deadly assassin was one of the most compelling journeys in Game of Thrones. But somewhere along the way, the story became more interested in showing us how dangerous Arya was than exploring what all that violence had done to her.
She lost her father, watched her family fall apart, and spent years learning to kill. Yet when her revenge was finally within reach, the show rarely gave us enough time to understand the emotional cost of everything she had become.
And honestly, killing the Night King was a shocking moment, but it felt disconnected from the personal journey that had defined Arya for so long.
She spent years learning how to become No One, only to realize she was still Arya Stark. I just wish the ending had explored that realization more deeply.
We asked our new maid why she left her former job, and her answer slowly made my wife turned to me.
Me: “So, why did you leave your last employer?”
Maid: “Sir, they sacked me.”
Wife: “Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. What happened?”
She looked at us without the slightest embarrassment.
Maid: “Madam, I love sleeping with men. That's the truth. My former employer sacked me because I slept with her husband and eventually left with him.”
I froze.
My wife slowly turned her head toward me.
I looked at her.
She looked at me.
Neither of us spoke for several seconds.
Wife: “Honey, can we talk outside?”
We excused ourselves and stepped into the corridor.
My wife immediately grabbed my arm.
Wife: “Please tell me you heard what I just heard.”
Me: “I heard every word.”
Wife: “And you still want us to employ this woman?”
Me: “Absolutely not! What if she starts looking at me the way she looked at that woman’s husband?”
Wife: “Then why are you considering hiring her?”
Me: “I'm not! I'm just trying to understand why someone would tell us something like that during an interview.”
My wife shook her head.
Wife: “She didn't even look ashamed. Honey, this is a warning sign. Let's end the interview politely.”
I nodded.
We returned to the sitting room.
Me: “We've discussed it, and we've decided to give you a chance. But we'll start with two weeks, and we'll see how things go.”
My wife turned toward me so quickly that I nearly laughed.
Wife: “Two weeks?”
Me: “Yes, darling. Two weeks.”
The maid smiled.
Maid: “Thank you, sir. You won't regret it.”
My wife whispered under her breath.
Wife: “I hope we don't regret this before bedtime.”
If only we knew what was coming.
