#WATCH | Delhi: On the Jantar Mantar protest against caste-based reservation, YouTuber Ajeet Bharti says, "Our biggest demand is that the government should come up with a white paper stating that the reservations you've given to people for 80 years... I come from Bihar. Research how dire the situation of the Musahar community is. Their children aren't getting reservations. Why? Because those caste groups don't even have leaders... The second demand is quota within quota, on which the government has also said that we will not implement the creamy layer in it. Why will you not implement it? It is so absurd that the government is bowing down to those few Dalit leaders who only talk about their caste group... The third demand is minimum marks. You cannot sell the dream of a developed India by compromising on merit. If 50% of the deserving youth or boys and girls who are studying will not get admission in the IITs, IIMs, or higher education, your efficiency has reduced by 50% right there... Then the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) should be made a part of the Scheduled Castes (SC). The class whose definition says economically weaker, you are neither giving them a facility in buying the form, nor are you waiving their hostel fee, nor is their course fee being waived; what will you achieve by merely recognising it?... At least indicate that we are going to have a sit-down talk about this..."

What is happening in Jagti is not merely a story of poor maintenance it is a painful reflection of how successive governments have treated the victims of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide. The construction of Jagti Colony began in 2006 to provide dignified living conditions to displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu. The project was completed in 2011, when then PM Manmohan Singh Ji allotted the flats to KPs with the understanding that they would live with dignity in Jammu until their proper rehabilitation in their homeland in Kashmir.

The irony? The very year the project was completed, repair and renovation tenders were floated by the executing agency. What does that say about the quality of construction? A project costing over ₹400 crore, and yet today residents live with collapsing walls, falling plaster, severely deteriorated ceilings and water seepage reaching electrical wiring. During rains, many families are forced to switch off electricity altogether out of fear of electric shocks.

For the last six years, residents have lived with the constant fear that portions of their homes may collapse. Drinking water is another crisis many families say they remain without regular drinking water for nearly half the year, and this has continued for years.

Jagti has 4,224 flats housing more than 5,500 families. Roads inside the colony and the approach road remain in miserable condition despite more than 100 representations.

Now ₹80 crore has been sanctioned for repairs. But before spending another rupee, the government must conduct an independent structural safety audit of every building. We fear that a proper audit may reveal just how unsafe these structures have become. Otherwise, another ₹80 crore could disappear into repairs while the fundamental problem remains untouched. We demand urgent structural testing, electrical safety, proper water supply, drainage and, ultimately, a new safe colony for the genocide victims.

And yes, this is about Kashmiri Pandits the very community whose name is repeatedly invoked for political narratives. The BJP has been in power at the Centre for 12 years. Yet not a single senior BJP leader has meaningfully visited Jagti, India's largest settlement of Kashmiri Hindu genocide victims, to see how these families are actually living. In Delhi, the Kashmiri Pandit cause is convenient politics; in Jagti, it is the daily reality of survival.

We have little hope left. But we are grateful that, at least now, the people of India are seeing the truth of how the victims of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide continue to live in these so-called rehabilitation colonies in Jammu..

Very disappointing answer from CM @OmarAbdullah proving once again that he is just CM of #Kashmir .
On one hand , #Kashmir has big Corporate Hospitals like Paras Group of Hospitals Srinagar, Amandeep BR Multispeciality Hospital Srinagar, Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital established after 2019 , CM Omar Abdullah opposes establishment of similar Hospitals for #Jammu region.
Very negative thinking and disappointing reply.
Fact of matter is that thousands of patients go out of Jammu every month for getting treatment in those very Corporate Hospitals whose establishment in Jammu our CM is opposing!
Private Healthcare is the backbone of Healthcare and our CM doesn't want Private Healthcare in Jammu to improve !
Very disappointing to see such regressive view point about Corporate Hospitals from a progressive looking modern CM of J&K ! Very narrow thinking.

Thankful to Mr @sunilJbhat for asking this important Question from CM , the question I have been asking since last 4 years after signing of MoU of Apollo Hospitals with J&K Government in December 2021 !

Heartbroken at the news that Bipin Joshi is dead💔. Relieved his body was brought back to Israel yesterday - after 738 days in Hamas captivity.

Bipin, a 25-year-old student from Nepal, was abducted from Kibbutz Alumim on October 7.

He came to Israel just three weeks before the attack on an agricultural study program and quickly fell in love with life on the kibbutz.

An aspiring agricultural scientist and amateur rapper, Bipin was full of dreams and joy. His life was brutally cut short, murdered by Hamas terrorists. After 738 days, Bipin is returning home for a proper burial.

We share in the profound grief of the Joshi family.
May Bipin’s memory be a blessing. 🕯️
