Even if I use Appleโs Virtualization.framework to run Linux for better performance, then what? I still need a separate way to package and run the application locally from how I deploy it in production. If production is Docker/OCI, using Docker in development keeps those environments much closer.
Once you get beyond a simple LAMP stack and start dealing with multiple services, workers, dependencies, queues, databases, GPU runtimes, etc., that consistency matters a lot more.
@marcus_schack@theo If production runs Docker/OCI containers, developing in containers means you're testing much closer to what you actually ship. That's worth some overhead to me. Are you saying that microVM's eliminate the x86 โ ARM translation overhead?
