.@USATODAY sports writer @nrarmour wrote a vacuous fan girl piece about @Simone_Biles yesterday. It was riddled with inaccuracies but I'll get to that later today.

Armour asserts that what Biles did was "brave." That attacking Gaines and calling her "sick" and telling her she should be advocating for a 3rd "trans" category (newsflash Simone, that's considered "transphobic" because Trans women ARE women) was courageous!

(PS Simone, why don't you advocate for that 3rd category? You are more famous than Riley! You have more followers -- 12.4 on IG vs Riley's 700k -- and influence! You have more money!)

Nancy, please. It wasn't brave. Biles lives in a bubble where everyone she knows agrees with her. The gymnastics fan community is giddy.

Her big sponsor @Athleta is in SF and agrees with her. And despite the fact that Athleta's whole brand proposition is about female empowerment -- "Power to the She" is their tagline -- they won't care all that much about the body shaming Biles engaged in in suggesting @Riley_Gaines_ looks like a man. Ad hominems against conservatives are just fine in SF. No need to engage the actual argument. Remember it was at SFSU that Gaines was physically attacked and held hostage for hours. Violence is ok against conservatives! It is righteous in fact!

Here's the thing: Biles risked nothing. Not friends. Not fawning press coverage. Not endorsements deals.

But I can guarantee you if she'd said the opposite - that males have no place in women's sports - Athleta would have ended the contract for hate speech. There would go the millions out the window. (Reportedly Biles' contract with Athleta is at least $8M, likely higher.) And all her other brand deals would have ended as well. Uber Eats - buh bye. Visa - nope. United - gone. That would have been brave.

So I ask you, who is the grifter after all?
