Thank you to everyone who joined us, @CMKevinCRiley & @EricDinowitzNYC for our first White Plains Road Walkshop!
We explored the corridor from Gun Hill Rd to 237th St, discussing how a neighborhood plan can create homes & jobs, improve public space & invest in the community.
I am proud to provide funding for the Riverdale Y’s project to fight antisemitism and hate, in addition to funding for their theater programs and senior services. With this funding, the @RiverdaleYMYWHA can continue to run their "We Are The Bronx Fellowship Against Hate"…
We’re taking smart, proactive steps to build more housing in our city, all while upgrading our libraries. We deserve affordable homes and state of the art libraries, and I’ll work with @SpeakerMenin and my @NYCCouncil colleagues to make this happen.

Education works!!! I’m so proud of these student leaders and their growth. That’s why I will continue to support this initiative and work to expand it.

Congrats to the @NewVisionsNYC students for completing their @AuschwitzJCF Fellowship to Combat Hate!
They spent the year learning about Holocaust and civil rights education, civics, and ways to recognize, confront, and prevent antisemitism, racism, and all forms of hate.
~ $2B in added revenue gives NYC an opportunity to strengthen schools, parks, libraries, sanitation, and programs that support families and quality of life. Thank you to Speaker @JulieMenin and @NYCCouncil Finance team for their thoughtful work as budget negotiations continue.
Our volunteer coalition immediately brought the family to my office’s triage center and my team sprung into action. Within minutes, one of my staff members demanded his belongings from ICE while @NYLAG prepared an emergency lawsuit and his kids had a snack and played games.
Realizing they could not defend the arrest in court, ICE quickly released him to his family.
They knew they broke the law. Aggressive congressional oversight and legal advocacy are our best defense against this administration's lawless dragnet. (2/2)
This evening I stopped by the Woodlawn Taxpayers meeting for a community update.
We worked with parks to keep the playground spray showers open this summer, held a successful shredding event, and closed numerous constituent cases!
This administration proposes cuts to some of our most critical programs. I and the @NYCCouncil will fight to ensure these programs receive the funding they deserve so our kids get the support they need.
@InnaVernikov and I just got off a call with the victim of this antisemitic hate crime. She was pinned to subway floor, choked, and had her hair ripped out.
Like all hate crimes, this should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Hate cannot be tolerated in our city.
Want to have a say in the future of White Plains Road? Join the White Plains Road Neighborhood Plan Walkshop on June 13. Choose from three guided tours, explore the corridor, and share your ideas with planners and neighbors.

Thank you to @NYPDnews and @nyuniversity for promptly and publicly addressing the antisemitic incident at NYU.
Read the NYC Council Jewish Caucus Statement below.
@nyuniversity makes clear that if you engage in acts of antisemitism, there are consequences: “…we will immediately pursue our disciplinary procedures, which carry the most severe consequences.”

The @MetCouncil embodies the values of tzedakah and tikkun olam, providing critical support to hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers each year.
I’m grateful for this recognition and proud to stand with an organization whose work makes such a profound difference in the lives of our city’s most vulnerable residents.
Only in New York: you walk into the Comptroller’s office and six Jewish guys are out-singing anything on the radio: no instruments, all voice.

@UJAFedNY sponsorship = Jewish Heritage night done right by @NYCComptroller Mark Levine at his office.
. @bronxbp and I had a great visit to PS 81, speaking with 5th graders and presenting $1 million for playground upgrades and $350k for A+ STEM labs to help support students for years to come.
Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for the warm welcome!
Proud to support Culture for All! Our city must invest in our cultural institutions so that every New Yorker, especially our young people, has access to the arts, museums, music, and experiences that make New York City the greatest city in the world.
#JewishHeritage month has been particularly challenging this year, especially in #District29, where a cluster of antisemitic acts of hate took place. That is why this year's Jewish Heritage Month event hosted by @QnsBPRichards was so important and appreciated. Congrats to all the honorees, with a special shout out to @HowardPollack and Shimi Pelman - 2 leaders in the Queens Jewish Community.
Congrats to the @NewVisionsNYC students for completing their @AuschwitzJCF Fellowship to Combat Hate!
