Chicago: 17.5.

Last year was Chicago's lowest ever murder rate & we averaged more than 1 each day.

Would you consider Chicago's murder per capita rate currently acceptable?

@DetCrashmore44 @mollyfleck Assuming 10 split into duos you can have 5 Trains getting covered at any time, they’d obviously aim to patrol high problem lines/stations & be mobile. Even 5% coverage of the problem areas will allow us to take down more issues.

@DetCrashmore44 @mollyfleck And I’ve seen the cops waiting at the stations get on the train cars I’ve been on and remove the problems this year, twice. It removed erratic behavior and improved my commute. Not theatre!

@DetCrashmore44 @mollyfleck Correct, crazy to run into it twice in a short span. Had nothing like it in 2025, but I do have 2 direct experiences with my commute improving so I dispute the theatre claim.

I do doubt the claim that you’ve never seen a cop on the train in 18 years, unless you rarely ride?

@DetCrashmore44 @mollyfleck Twice this year I’ve seen police remove an erratic person from the train, one homeless man was directly threatening women and the other a woman lighting her backpack on fire.

Combine that with benefits like this, this is a great step forward for improving my daily commute!

@jakescool I don’t disagree with any of this. But I commute via the CTA and see schizos like this often. The left consistently puts in judges who lets these people out while the politicians excuse their behavior. The right is full of blowhards that I know you know I don’t fully back.
