@therealdiehl84 In 2021, 37.9 MILLION Americans were in poverty.
For reference the population of Iowa is ~3 million
That’s a lot of fucking people.
Meanwhile corporations continue to rake in record profits year after year.
The problem I see is respect for human life
Seth you’re a good guy but you’re essentially saying..
“If you do not have marketable skills, then you do not “deserve” to live.”
i.e. afford basic necessities such as food, water, and shelter.
Counterpoint: It shouldn’t.
If you do not have marketable skills, then you do not “deserve” to be compensated as if you do.
If you feel that your compensation does not befit the lifestyle that you want to live, then gain skills that are worthy of higher pay.
@therealdiehl84 Regarding raising the wage for someone that’s not generating a worthy output. They ARE. They’re generating the PRODUCT that earns the company PROFIT in the first place.
Being able to afford to LIVE from working full-time shouldn’t be controversial.
These low wage workers generate billions for these corporations and are rewarded with peanuts.
Walmart workers are taught how to apply for food stamps..
This is a problem
This is me after 1 dose of Pfizer on 1/5/2021 in the hospital. I was a very healthy 45 year old who managed a surgery center. Two years later I am still having major issues https://t.co/al2yTTga5j
